I ENJOYED MY STAY AT A ARRIBANA VERY, VERY MUCH

  • 5 of 5
"I would like to say that I enjoyed my stay at A Arribana very, very much - I liked the way Tradicampo links old structures with modern architecture at A Arribana and the very comfortable furnishing and atmosphere. The added facilities (garden, pool, bikes (although we did not use them), eating corner on the verandah, etc. and the location of the house are perfect! In addition, I liked the attention to detail (hortensias in the vase, etc.). I was a customer, but felt like a guest!

I have and will recommend Tradicampo!"

The Azores archipelago, synonymous with pearls lost in the ocean, is located in the North Atlantic at about 1. 500 kilometers west of Lisbon. It consists of nine islands of volcanic origin and has a total area of approximately 2. 333 Km2.

These islands have places of great tranquility, coated with stunning scenery, where the blue sea and green hydrangeas and their fields and mountains combine differently from island to island. Its lagoons, a unique beauty, mystical charms contain the secular legends that associate. Its museums, churches and palaces guard treasures of art and history and its traditions, folk festivals, crafts and cuisine remain alive, constituting a legacy of five centuries of settlement.

The Municipality of the Northeast, in particular, is the best kept treasure of San Miguel Island. Its unspoilt nature, with an extensive patch of laurel forests which inhabits the Priolo, only bird in the world, the landscapes breathtaking, against the background of the sea of intense blue and traditions of its people, providing refuge for excellence for those seeking a lost paradise.

São Pedro de Nordestinho, former headquarters of the defunct parish Nordestinho, was elevated to a parish July 16, 2002.

The Church of St Peter dates from the early century. XVI and was privately owned by Sebastiao Pereira. In the time of King Sebastian was already in the public domain. Its main structure was improved in the century. By XVIII which is currently one of the three oldest parish churches in the county.

The Chapel of Our Lady of Tears, a B flat grassland overlooking the sea, has a history of five centuries, but the last reconstruction dating from 1895.

According to legend, after the famous earthquake of 1522, the Virgin Mary reportedly appeared to a young pastor, proclaiming that Ponta Delgada would be buffeted by the scourge of plague and asking him to build the chapel. The afflicted population raised a temple to the Virgin Mary in the invocation of the Mourning Mrs. The small temple has persisted there throughout the ages and continues to be the subject of pilgrimages.
