BIG 6 bedroom 3 bath house with separate studio and bath offers a luxury hotel experience (arrive to beds made up with quality linens and towels hung ready for your use) with the convenience and comfort of a home. Ideal property for family vacations of multiple generations or groups of friends.

Beautiful 3/4 acre landscaped property with a swing set for the little ones, badminton, croquet and basketball (equipment provided). Private association tennis courts (key is in the house) on the dead end road with direct access to the Cape Cod Rail Trail (great for walking or biking).

.5 miles to Herringbrook Pond (fresh water pond) or 1 mile to First Encounter Beach (spectacular bay beach) or 2 miles to Coast Guard or Nauset Light Beach (fabulous ocean beaches).

Three floors of living space include ground floor with large family room, color television, VCR and separate reading/music (with piano) room. Main level has master bedroom (queen bed), jetted tub bathroom, huge living room with 32' color television (DVD, VCR and Wii) and well equipped eat-in kitchen for the gourmet chef. Large gas grill will delight the grill master.

The expansive deck makes outdoor living an additional bonus. Enjoy sunbathing on one of the 6 cushioned lounge chairs. Dine at one of the tables with umbrellas then relax into the night while star gazing. Without back lighting, the view is amazing!

Second floor has four bedrooms (two with a king size bed and two with two twin beds), full bath and laundry facility. The separate studio suite over the garage, connected by the expansive deck, has a king size bedroom set, kitchen counter perfect for making snacks to enjoy at the table, color television and full bath. All rooms have air-conditioners.

This home is beautifully decorated with antiques and comfortable furniture, constantly updated and lovingly maintained. And impeccably clean!

Pack your bags and enjoy a marvelous, memorable vacation on the Cape this year. Fall is a delightful time to visit the Cape. There is less traffic, it is less expensive to rent (half as much!) and the weather is great!! Chose the week that works for your group and make a reservation to see for yourself.

Visit in June, September or October. The weather is still lovely and the rates are lower.

About The Owner

My first visit to Cape Cod was as a middle school student from Connecticut. It was love at first sight - I said to myself, Someday, I'm going to live here. And, in 1979, with my husband and five children, ranging in age from 3-13, I did.

The family run motel business that caused the move, however, proved way too overwhelming for the busy life required to raise a family. After 5 years of that, the business sold and the house at 90 Ireland Way was built and became home.

Cape Cod Community College is a wonderful resource for education on the Cape. It provided me the opportunity to get an education, be a stay at home mom and assist (bookkeeping) the entrepreneur husband who was then building houses for a living. (90 Ireland Way is the result of that endeavor).

Renting the house in the summer, after the children were grown and on their own, was the plan. However, after graduation from an off-Cape college, it was evident that my marriage couldn't survive the change.

Renting the house then became essential for repairs and maintenance.

For the past 9 years, many different families have enjoyed a summer vacation on Cape Cod in this wonderful family home. The house has become even more important to the children - all adults now and some with their own children - than before. Indeed, my oldest granddaughter (named for me!), is 17 this year!!

Of all the holidays we've enjoyed over the years, this past Christmas was the best. My 10 year old granddaughter, Jess, said to me during the Wii tournament, 'Gammie, it's not about the Wii - it's the people'. Yes, wisdom from a child. It was Jess who insisted that another Wii be purchased so the summer guests could enjoy playing the different games.

We all hope you create special family memories at a home that has done the same for us.

Families are so precious. And creating memorable experiences is what bonds us together even more. We sincerely hope you enjoy the best vacation ever!

Why The Owner chose Eastham

Eastham is delightful: 3 miles wide from ocean to bay and lots of beautiful ponds as well. It is a family focused resort town boasting the National Seashore Visitor's Center. Beach days at either bay or ocean beaches or ponds will put you into a new relaxed mode. Bike on the rail trail, relax on the expansive new deck and just 'be' on your vacation. Great new seafood store (Mac's) will provide the freshest locally caught fish or eat out at one of the many restaurants. Grilling on the deck is definitely an easy option.

What makes this house unique

90 Ireland Way was built as our family home in 1984. Five children enjoyed growing up in Eastham and many of their local friends considered the house 'home' as well. Since they are now grown and living alone or with husbands and children, the house has been enjoyed by summer vacationers for the past 9 years. During the off-season, we gather for holidays and memorable occasions. Add 90 Ireland Way to your vacation memories - it's a house meant to be enjoyed for just this purpose.

Car: recommended

One mile to First Encounter Beach (bay side). Less than a mile to Herringbrook Pond (fresh water). One and a half miles to Nauset Light Beach and Coast Guard Beach (ocean side). Convenient to Orleans with shopping center and direct access to the bike trail at the dead-end of Ireland Way.

Equidistance to Provincetown and Hyannis. Whale watch from the former and shop in the latter.

Eastham is 'old Cape Cod'. Delightfully rural with the best beaches on Cape Cod. 3 miles between ocean and bay; it doesn't get much better than this.

Clamming on the flats at low tide (permit required) will make you feel like a native. Enjoy the best seafood at home or at local restaurants.

Traffic isn't a problem, once you get here. Bridge Road in Eastham connects Orleans to Wellfleet without the traffic. On Sunday or Wednesday, the Wellfleet Flea market is a must. Local vendors have bargains galore.

The weekly newspaper, The Cape Codder, will be waiting for you. Check it out & Enjoy

Other Activities: The local theatre scene is fabulous. In Orleans, there is The Academy of Performing Arts. One of the frequent lead actors is in the family so we're quite proud of this venue.

There are other theaters, in Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown. And, the Cape Playhouse, in Dennis, is know for their fabulous equity theatre.

The Wellfleet drive-in theatre is one of the last remaining in the nation. If they are offering a show you'd enjoy make sure to go. Your kids will love the experience.

In Dennis, at the Cape Cinema, adults will enjoy the unique atmosphere and the great selection of films they offer. It's only about 20 minutes from the house and perfect for the (ugh!!) rainy afternoon.

Brewster's Museum of Natural History and Wellfleet's Audobon are great for all. They are well staffed and offer insight to the Cape and it's natural habitat. The Cape Cod National Seashore has a wonderful space in Eastham and varies their programs.

Golf: Golfing on Cape Cod is available year round. There are five beautiful public courses (one for each day of the week) at Chequessett Yacht and Country Club in Wellfleet about 5 miles from the house (508-349-3704), The Captain's Golf Course in Brewster (508-896-1716) about 5 miles from the house, Harwichport Golf Club about 25 miles from the house (508-432-0250), Highland Golf Links in Truro aoubt 8 miles from the house (508-487-9201) and Blue Rock Resort and Golf Course in South Yarmouth about 8 miles from the house (508-398-9295).

A wonderful family - 5 generations - weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday. We loved the house and its amenities. Perfect for all of us. We look forward to coming back.

The little kids absolutely loved it, too. Deck and playscape were all our favorites.

Roosters!

I came here with my famiily and it's an amazing house! I loved the two family rooms. I also noticed you seem to love roosters, I do, too!

Our family comes from CT., RI and WA state - this is our 8th year coming to Cape Cod and we had an amazing week. This will live long in our memories - this house was a wonderful gathering place.

As I told you earlier, your "owner profile" is so genuine and warm - your home is delightfully genuine; warm, home-y, spacious - gracious - with EVERYTHING available. We hope this will be our summer gatherng place for years to come with our children and grandchildresn.

Not only are the linens and towles "provided" but ll are in place - what a treat!!
LOVED the decl and yard for the children. We've loved First Encounter for many years - great to be so close (and not having to go on Route 6 - ever!!).

The quiet nights and starry skies are treasures, too!!

Amazing week on Cape!

This house was perfect for our family & friends. We enjoyed the deck, bike trail and found a couple of nes places on the Bay.
