If this isn't the most perfect spot on Cape Cod, it's close. Classic summer Cape house built in 1910 on the edge of a 50 ft bluff facing southwest in exclusive Cataumet. Overlooking its own broad, private white sand beach with warm Buzzards Bay water, sandbars and steady breeze. Stairway leads directly from the house to our private beach. Ideal for swimming and boating. Cocktails on the bluff at sunset anyone? The house is a very comfortable, large, original summer cottage. The kitchen is modernized with new appliances and fully equipped. An attached 'boat house' has ping pong and pool tables and beach equipment. Living room with fireplace, and dining area are lovely and informal. Ideal family Cape in spectacular location.

This house has all the delights that the upper Cape has to offer including the warmer waters of Buzzards Bay and the convenience of being just ten minutes beyond the Bourne Bridge (about 70 minutes from Boston). The Bourne area has all the beauty of the outer Cape without all the traffic, tourist traps and congestion. If you'd like to get an idea about Cataumet and neighboring towns, read 'The Big House' by Georger Colt (my father is mentioned in the book as the man who beat his father in the local tennis tournament). The book will give you an idea about the stately old homes in the area which have been owned by generations of old yankee families as well as the kind of ambiance which permeates our community. We're talking about 'old cape' here.
