If you enjoy camping

If you enjoy camping, you won't be disappointed by the cottage. We did not have an air conditioner, the owner refused to turn on the gas to the fireplace and the queen bed is one mattress on wood. There is an ugly box directly within eye shoot of the queen bed that was decorated with a bandaid. The bathroom is very small and needs updating.
Owner's Response: In response to your review, our 2 Bedroom Water View summer cottage is in a shady well groomed village on Lewis Pond. The air conditioner is for July and August. It is normally removed Labor Day weekend. Huricane Irene came a few days before your arrival and forced the removal of the air conditioner for safety reasons. The gas fireplace is turned on in late September. The gas has to be turned on from the outside of the cottage. It takes a few hours to clear the all the air out of the gas lines to light the pilot light. Extra electric radiators were provided. The one mattress on wood has a name for it. It is called a "Platform Bed". Platform beds are recommended for people with bad backs. It also provides great extra storage draws underneath the bed. The ugly box near the queen bed is called a fuse (circuit breakers)box which has an alarm box directly connected to it which has been there since the cottage was built in the 1940's. The bathroom is small. We understand the bathroom is small, it's a cottage not a house. Approximately 5 years ago we had a new vanity, toilet, flooring, water heater and plumbing updated. We had the outside plumbing moved inside the cottage for a longer rental seasons use of the cottage. Painting inside the cottage is done every spring.
We have owned this cottage for 14 years. We never had a bad review as you can see from the other reviews on this web site. It sounds as though these people should have spent more money and rented a house or hotel and not a summer cottage? We have always tried to accomodate our clients with any issues they may have. We have many repeat clients and have had more than a few families stay for 5 weeks or more at one time without complaints? We have rented this cottage for 22 weeks out of a possible 26 weeks this year.
We want to thank all of our loyal clients and best wishes from Bob and Debbie at Kokomo Cottage.
