The Eixample (Eixample) is one of the most popular districts of Barcelona. It was designed by the developer Idelfons Cerdà, who was based on traffic flow and exploiting sunlight to expand the city. The Eixample is characterized by blocks of houses in octagonal shape, its broad streets and residential and commercial character. It is divided into two parts, the Eixample Esquerre (Left) and the Eixample (Dret) law, which are some of the most popular streets of the city like the Passeig de Gràcia, a paradise of shopping and restaurants. This walk crosses the Great Diagonal Avenue, which crosses the city of Barcelona. The Dret Eixample is home to modernist architectural masterpieces, including La Pedrera, Casa Batlló and the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's great unfinished project. Renting an apartment in the Eixample Dret can be an ideal choice to explore the city for its central location and excellent public transport.
