Great summer vacation 2008!

We have been going to the Vineyard for 10 years now and this year we thought we would try a different part of the island. This house was perfect for us! With the master bedroom & bath downstairs it was great for 2 families. The upstairs had the remaining 2 bedrooms, loft and bath which gave everyone thier own space. The open layout was perfect for entertaining along with the deck. Whatever we needed in order to cook was there and it was very nice having the washer and dryer on the first floor. And there is nothing like taking an outside shower after a long day at the beach.
As far as the location goes, we liked being in West Tisbury. We were able to get a pass to Lamberts Cove Beach, which you can only do if you are staying in W. Tisbury. What a beautiful beach. The house was close to the market, Vineyard Haven and easy driving to Edgartown, Oaks Bluff, and Menemsha. The bike path is easily accessable from this house as well. The owner was very accomodating and communicated well with all the questions we had. She was available by phone if we needed her too while we were on the island. We were able to get into the house a day earlier than we had agreed because it was going to be empty that day. It was great having that extra day vacation.
One of the best features of this rental property was the availability of ferry tickets for your car. Since it is difficult to get reservations because they fill up early in the year, it was nice to already have them secured thru this house. If you have been to the Vineyard before, you would know that often this can dictate when you go.
As far as we are concerned, Marthas Vineyard is one of the best summer vacation spots. There is something to do for everyone. We started going there before we had kids, and now we go with the whole family. There is something for everyone and we can't wait to go back year after year. You don't need to travel far to get the best beaches. They are here.
We look forward to staying here again!
We can't wait to come back next year!
