Charneca is a small and typical village only 5 min drive from Cascais and 10 min form Estoril. There is a small supermarket, a couple of cafés, a restaurant, as well as a bus stop. Even though it is a very quiet location to spend relaxing holidays, the village is only 2,5 km away from the A5, the motorway connection to Lisbon. Guincho beach is a couple of minutes by car (or 20 min by foot through a beautiful green valley in the Cascais-Sintra natural park).
Golf: They are 19 golf courses within an hours drive, the closest being Quinta da Beloura, Quinta da Marinha, Quinta do Peru, Estoril site of the Portuguese Open and Penha Longa site of the European Championship (all at approximately 10 min drive from the house). Another 14 golf courses are within an hours drive. Green fees are usually less expensive and courses are less crowded than in the Algarve. Visitors with club handicap are welcome everywhere.
