Photos and Description of the West Lothian vacation cottage rental
3 or 6 bedroom cottages, sleeps max. 12 people

Graded annually by VisitScotland as being 'of a very good /excellent / exceptional standard' our award-winning properties offer almost everything you could wish for to make your stay not just enjoyable but memorably wonderful.

A great base from which to explore the wealth and variety of landscape, attractions and activities that Scotland offers, guests talk of “coming home” to Crosswoodhill. Whilst the cooks in your party benefit from excellent kitchen facilities to serve up good Scottish fare, the rest of you can relax in front of an open fire, switch off and enjoy background music, a book, board game or a good film. Or, pull on your boots to explore our livestock farm and listen to birdsong....

Pictured here are our properties, all uniquely different, but all sharing the Crosswoodhill trademarks of charm, character, warmth, style, home comforts and caring hosts. Child, wheelchair and pet–friendly, our holiday cottages extend an all-year-round welcome to families, groups of friends, business people and all who revel in the freedom self-catering offers.

White, light and bright, with beautiful fittings and fabrics, the interiors are exceptionally tasteful and pleasing to the eye. 'The decor is superb... the eye for detail amazing' is a typical comment in our Visitors' Books and feedback forms.

Details for Steading Cottage 3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6, 1 Bathroom

The 4 Star quality grading awarded by VisitScotland (formerly the Scottish Tourist Board) to this annually inspected property allows us officially to describe it as ' Excellent ' accommodation (Inspected and graded in May 2011, Steading Cottage scored well within the 75 - 86% Quality Assurance range for 4 Star Scottish Tourist Board accommodation). This is the cottage for those happy to be at the heart of the farm. Creatively transformed in 1998 from dereliction into a wonderful home, it is white, light, spacious, inviting and warm with its multi-fuel stove and oil-fired central heating. Set back from the road with a small front garden, this detached cottage nestles right beside farm buildings and a field. The reduced rental reflects the possibility that despite thick walls and double glazing you may hear tractors, cattle or perhaps experience the odd farm whiff outside! Curiously enough this has proved to be somewhat of an attraction rather than a negative, especially to youngsters.
