The 'Castagneto' is a beautiful country house (about 70 sqm ) with garden, situated on the slopes of the ancient medieval village of Corsanico, a few km far from the center of Lucca and the sandy beaches of Versilia as well as the most beautiful art cities of Tuscany (Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Monteriggioni and all the wonderful Chianti area). The property consists of large living room with double sofa bed, sitting room, TV cabinet, dining room separated by fireplace (decorative only), table and chairs for 6/8 persons, completely new kitchen with dishwasher, oven, refrigerator, freezer. The sleeping area consists of a twin bedded room , wardrobe, desk, one double bedroom with wardrobe, a large marble bathroom with window and bathtub. Air conditioning (only in the sitting/dining room area). From the garden you enter the basement where there is a large laundry area with washing machine, ironing board, iron . In the cellar there is a second bathroom with shower. In front of the house there is a private garden where you can spend the warm summer nights, which is equipped with chairs and table for outdoor dining. Parking at 70 m. The coast of Versilia, which lies in the extreme north of Tuscany between the Apuan Alps and the Tyrrhenian Sea, the lake Massaciuccoli and Cinquale-estuary is 20 km long. The Versilia is only a few kilometersfar from the most beautiful cities of Tuscany: Pisa km 15 km, Lucca 15 km, Florence 60 km, Siena 90 km, San Gimignano 100 km, Volterra 150 km.

In Massaciuccoli (Massarosa) is the remains of a Roman villa, together with a small open air museum.
PIETRASANTA: The city of Pietrasanta is situated on a hill and it is famous for its Piazza del Duomo, where lie the Cathedral of San Marino and the church of S. Agostino. Also worth seeing the church of San Francesco (16th century), the Torre delle Ore (14th century), the sculptor Donato Benti and the Praetorian Palace (15th century). On the road from Pietrasanta to Valdicastello Carducci,birthplace of the poet , is the Romanesque church of SS Giovanni e Felicita, the oldest church of Versilia (9th century)
Camaiore is famous for the beautiful Romanesque Collegiate of 1278 . Worth a visit are the small church of San Michele in Romanesque style and the Brotherhood of SS Sacramento, the interior of the Museo di Arte Sacra. Near the cemetery, the Badia Benedettina from the 11th Jh
STAZZEMA (443 m.) On the slopes of the mountain and surrounded by the Matanna fascinating points of Pania della Croce and Corchia, the place is an ideal starting point for Stazzema excursions in the park of the Apuan Alps. As for the trips, it pays a visit to the L'Antro del Corchia, a karst cave of spectacular beauty.
From the coast you can reach the Apuan Alps, where you can visit the caves of the e Fantiscritti and Colonnata (still active). There are also various opportunity to make excursions : fromt Monte Prana,to Matanna and Monte Gabberi.
LUCCA: Cathedral of San Martino in the Romanesque where you can admire the art of Jacopo della Quercia 'the grave of Ilaria del Carretto.' Not far from the Duomo is the Piazza San Michele and the imposing church of San Michele in Foro (here was once the ancient Roman Forum). San Michele in Foro is an example of Pisan Romanesque monument . Nearby there is the church of San Frediano. Not far away lies one of the most typical streets of the city VIA FILLUNGO, as it has preserved its medieval appearance.

MONTECARLO NEAR LUCCA:
About 16 km far . from Lucca is situated on a lined with olive trees and grapevines hill Monte Carlo. Its origins date back to the year 1332. On the hill you can admire a fortress, the parish church of San Pietro in Campo (11 century), the Collegiate (12th century) and the Teatro Comunale dei Rassicurati (18th century) .

Pedona is 309 meters above sea level and is only five minutes far from the medieval town of Camaiore (4 km) and from the beaches of Viareggio (10 km) In the summer,it is organised a very nice exibition called 'Pedona torna al Medioevo' For a whole day the streets of the little village are animated with ladies, knights, jesters, musicians, traditional craftsmen. In every corner of the village you will find recreated fascinating insights from poets, storytellers, jugglers, artisans at work (the mason, the spinner, the blacksmith, the laundress, etc.) . From Pedona you can make several interesting and enjoyable walks: from Bargecchia to Corsanico (very famous for the festival of classical music with the monumental organ) and Camaiore.
