The cabin was completely renovated summer of 2012 and is located in an area with several other cabins. It is located on the famous Golden Circle route in the Southern part of Iceland.
Its closest attraction are the Geysir hot springs, only 5 minutes drive away. Close to the Geysir you will also find a restaurant, hotel and some tourist stores. The Gullfoss waterfall, is about 15 minutes drive away and is a must see. Þingvellir (the old parlament) is about 35 minutes drive away.
Reykjavik is a little more than an hour drive away, but the town of Selfoss (40 min) also has good shopping possibilities.
If you like fishing, the lodge has the right for 2 fishing rods for trout fishing in the river, which are included in the rental.
If you like golfing, there is a golf course next to the summerhouse (closed during winter), additionally you can find several golfcourses within a short drive.
You can go swimming and do groceries in Reykholt (15 min) or Fluðir (20 min). At Laugavatn about 20-25 minutes drive you can find a Spa with swimming pool along with a grocery store.
It is also possible to go river rafting on the Hvitá river which is close by.
There are endless opportunities of things to see and do in this part of Iceland.
