Large 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment with sea and valley views

This large apartment, with its own entrance, is located on the upper ground and first floor of the semi-detached house within a medieval village.

The apartment, which was fully refurbished 6 years ago, is tastefully decorated with both modern and antique furniture.

On the upper ground floor, you will find a large open plan kitchen with table and chairs that leads onto a cosy lounge furnished with 2 sofas and television with satellite programs. Within the hallway, there is a spacious storage area for luggage.

The kitchen is well equipped with oven, hob, microwave, a new cafe machine and all that is needed for self catering.

On the first floor are 2 large bedrooms. One has a double bed with en suite bathroom and a sunlit terrace. The second bedroom has 2 twin beds that can be put together. There is also a separate shower room/WC on the same floor.

All rooms have windows giving uninterrupted views onto the valley and the sea beyond.

Behind the house, there is a private welcoming open space under a tree with a large table that can seat 6 to 8 and a barbecue.

Wood burning pizza oven is available too.

The patio terrace can be reached via the front door or an age-old staircase direct from the lounge.

There is free wifi available. No pets please.

The communal pool is beautiful, with proper travertine stone around it. The size is 42 square meters and a safe 1.5 meters deep (no diving).

About Mr Antonio

I was born in Bordighera and grew up in Negi - where my family still live. At the moment we live abroad but I return to Negi every 6-8 weeks with my wife and two children. I speak fluent English and French (as well as Italian). My wife is English and my children are growing up to be bi-lingual.

Why Mr Antonio chose Bordighera

We fell in love with the property because it's a house with a feel-good ambience to it. It makes people feel calm and content.

And Negi is an amazing place for so many different reasons. Whether you are someone who likes to walk, mountain trek, cycle, sunbathe, relax or you like restaurants, beaches and bars, Negi and it's nearby town of Bordighera, have it all. There's even Monte Carlo 35 mins way for that special night out!

I've always loved my home village and my wife has also fallen in love with Negi/Seborga as she enjoys the peace and quiet and nature being on the doorstep. She's also fascinated by the clarity of the sky at night; there are many space observatories in the area and it's possible to see satellites, shooting stars and the milky way with the naked eye. It's also the only place where we relax knowing the children are safe and happy even if we don't know where they are.

We hope to retire there once the children are older as the sense of community is strong and the climate mild.

What makes this house unique

We fell in love with the brightness and open space the apartment brings. All rooms face South so we have the sun shining in all day long (but you can always shut it out with the dark shutters if needed!). With uninterrupted views all the way to the sea's horizon, you feel that you can truly breathe. Lastly, we like to think we have good taste in furnishing and believe this flat will be to everyone's liking.

Wonderful holiday domicile!

We stayed in Negi for 14 days this July and had a great time there. The apartment and the new, fantastic swimming pool are wonderful! Large, light rooms, precious old furniture, modern bathrooms, a great view over the mountains to the seaside and a nice, shady terrace for relaxing and enjoying meals outside. The apartment is clean and well equiped, and the price is really fair for this amazing holiday domicile! The area of Negi is very quiet, you can watch special plants and wonderful flowers while doing long walks. If you want more "touristique programme", the seaside is only 20 minutes away. What is very special is the owner´s family, they all are very, very kind. You don´t feel foreign because they´re so friendly and helpful with whatever you need or want to know. You can get fresh vegetables, eggs and fruits from their fields, and they also sell their own very, very (!) good olive oil. We were so happy and want to come back. Thanks for that wonderful, relaxing and interesting place to enjoy an unforgettable holiday!

Wonderful relaxing holidays

We spent 2 wonderful weeks at Negi - the house and the pool were nice and clean and the landlord and his familiy gave us a very cordial welcome.
The view from the pool is great, the landscape is wonderful and you have the possibility to see touristic places like Sanremo, Menton, Nizza and Monaco as well as pittoresque little villages like Seborga, Perinaldo, Apricale or Dolceaqua.
You can go hiking enjoying the great landscape.
There are various possibilties for your holidays and we always loved to come back to the nice house and to the helpful owner's family.
Thanks for the fruits from the garden and the cake, and we really liked the home made products and the very good olive oil!

Ein sehr schöner Urlaub

Wir können Casa Aurelia guten Herzens weiterempfehlen. Das kleine Dorf Negi liegt ruhig gelegen hinter dem Dorf Seborga am Ende einer kurvigen Landstraße. Dort hat man seine Ruhe und einen schönen Ausblick auf das Meer. Das Dorf liegt relativ hoch, so dass man es Abends auch ein wenig kühler als in Strandnähe hat. Die Gastgeber sind sehr, sehr nett und hilfsbereit, und haben uns einige Male mit Leckereien aus dem eigenen Garten überrascht. Gutes Essen hat hier Tradition. Der Standort ist außerdem hervorragend geeignet um, die anliegenden Städte der Cote d’Azur zu besuchen. Cannes, Antibes, Nizza, Monaco, Menton liegt alles in Schlagdistanz, der kurze Weg zur Autobahn macht es möglich. Aber auch Ligurien bietet genügend Möglichkeiten für schöne Ausflüge. Der Gemeinschaftspool ist ausreichend groß um vor Ort zu entspannen. Alles in allem - sehr empfehlenswert!

Casa Aurelia is located in the small village of Negi Fumei,13 km from the coastal town of Bordighera and 3 Km away from the stunning historic village of Seborga, 500 meters on the sea level.

Considering the distance from the coast, Negi seats facing the valley and sea with amazing open view.

The village is an ideal place for resting and enjoying a peaceful holiday but with many options.

The house is in an excellent location for amateurs hikers, mountain bikers and beach lovers as well as good food lovers.

The nearby picturesque village and principality of Seborga, offers shops, bars, restaurants with local cuisine and weekly open air festival parties during the summer months.

Just few minutes walking from the house, you can find an olive oil mill where chefs like Jamie Oliver visit and is used by many top chefs worldwide and home made wine is available on request.

During summer, organic grown vegetables are available, honey and eggs at any times.

Not far away, other attractions include a public observatory in Perinaldo, white-water rafting in Rocchetta, San Remo music festival, Cannes film festival, Monaco F1 grand pix, Nice carnival, Menton lemon's festival, the picturesque village of Bussana vecchia, Toirano's grotto, sea and fresh water fishing, tennis courts, golf in San Remo, horse riding, paragliding, sailing, jet skiing, winery tours and testing, whale watching and lots more.

The beautiful coastal town of Bordighera, has been the subject of many Monet paintings and during the 19th century, well-heeled Britons, German and Russian aristocrat, populated this coastal town from October to May leaving a legacy of fancy Liberty style villas and luxurious hotels. Bordighera was a vacation retreat par excellence and still maintain a very high reputation.

Protected by the mountains rising behind has a temperate climate, so it's milder and best for autumn and winter warmth. Also, Bordighera offer an historic roman museum, beautiful sea front promenade, beeches and the old town has wide selection of some of the best fish restaurants, like 'La Cicala' and 'Magiarge' for ligurian dishes.

By the sea side you can enjoy an excellent meal at Amarea restaurant where the menu changes daily and the owner Romolo sources the best local produces and serves them at competitive prices.

Just over few miles closed to the border with France, you will find the amazing botanical Hambury gardens established in 1867 by Sir Thomas Hambury with the help of landscape designer Ludwig Winter, holds more than 5000 species and used to film the movie 'Grace of Monaco'

In the next valley not too far away from the house, you will find the stunning medieval villages of Dolceacqua, Isolabona, Pigna, and Apricale which like out of a fairy tale, they where awarded best picturesque villages in Italy.

There you will be able to find some tasty trattoria and local restaurant, still, in my view, very affordable.

If you are a real gastronomic, with less then 2 hours drive, you can reach the town of Alba where the exquisite white truffle come from and base to some of the best restaurants in Italy or if you like glamour, visit the cafe de Paris, the famous Alain Ducasse at Louis XV, Buddha bar or Cipriani restaurant in Monaco just 40 minute away.

For me that I lived there for so many years, this corner of Liguria never stops amazing me and there are always things to admire around the corner.

In order to make the most of your holiday, I also offer a 'concierge' service advising you in any of your requirement.
