We have rented this home 7 or 8 times and can not say enough about it. The cottage is not huge (2 bedrooms) but is made to feel so much larger by virtue of the many windows (with incredible views of the Bay, sunset, PTown etc) and the huge, well furnished deck. The owner's description is spot on - there is a definite feeling of being on a boat. We have tested their statement that there are water views from every window and it is true! Steps down to what is essentially a private beach, where we have caught dinner (Stripers and Blues) so many times. Favorite activities: kayaking around the Island, fishing from the kayak, lobster dinners on the deck, reading, walking way out on the beach at low tide collecting memories and, of course, some of the best sunsets ever. The owners' attention to detail reflects the fact that they have done this for many years - they have perfected the art of vacation rentals - the home is always spotless upon arrival, is equipped down to the tide charts, beach chairs, outdoor speakers and binoculars, and is made even more beautiful by the gorgeous flowers planted each year. The Town of Wellfleet itself is just a bonus. Upscale but still quintessential Cape Cod. Great restaurants, from formal to flipflops, shops and art galleries. An excellent market, with many prepared foods and a top rate meat department, and a great fish market across the street. Easy ride down to Provincetown, a day trip we make at least once each stay, where the shopping will keep you busy all day but the sights will be the lasting memory. Finally, the cottage is located on Lieutenant Island, accessible by a small wooded bridge that becomes inaccessible at the very highest of tides as the road on either side washes over. This just adds to the ambience, making it feel that much more special, secluded and quaint.
