Private location 5 min from Stowe Village on 2 acres surrounded by farmland + quiet wooded area. Excellent biking+ XC skiing from door. Relax beside the fireplace in our living room with cathedral ceiling, exposed beams and second floor balcony walkway.Play a game of chess or checkers on our vintage game table. First floor has an open floor plan with custom kitchen that is well equipped to cook for 14! Everyone can enjoy a meal seated around our trestle table with woodland views. A spacious 30' deck with seasonal seating and gas grill provides additional space for entertaining! All the comforts of home with w+ d, linens, towels, firewood etc. Both bathrooms have been recently renovated with custom cabinets, tile floors and granite vanities. Our 4 bedroom configuration with master bedroom on first floor is ideal for small groups as well as family gatherings, reunions + wedding groups. Sleeps to 14. Immaculately maintained.

Enjoy the best skiing in the East whether you chose alpine skiing + snowboarding at Stowe Mountain Resort or x country skiing on groomed trails at the Trapp Family Lodge. Snowshoe on Stowe Recreational Path; treat yourself to a sleigh ride or a visit to one of Stowe's world class spas. Browse through Stowe's 70 shops and chose from 50 restaurants for gourmet dining experiences. In warmer seasons you can bike, roller blade or walk along the nationally acclaimed 5.5 mile Recreation Path that starts in the village and travels to the mountain. There are many shops, restaurants, swimming holes, picnic areas and events to stop and enjoy along the path. For more of a challenge there are plenty of cycling and hiking trails at Mt Mansfield and Smuggler's Notch. If you like horseback riding, golf, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, antiquing, music festivals or a scenic drive during the fall foliage, Stowe is the perfect vacation choice.

Idyllic for large or small gatherings!

This beautiful 2-story gem is located just a speck outside of the hustle & bustle of Stowe (where it is often hard to find parking - even at the B&B's and resorts). And while it will house a large group very comfortably, my husband & I spent part of our 21st anniversary vacation there alone and was VERY pleased! The home doesn't feel like the "typical" vacation rental - it really feels like home! There is plenty to do in the region (such as the Cabot Creamery, Ben & Jerry's Plant, hiking, skiing, and beautiful scenic drives galore). We went for the Fall foliage and was not disappointed. We came home to our "Home" each night and made dinner and watched some TV in front of the cozy fireplace. We highly recommend! The owners are very nice & easy to deal with as well! Have fun!!!

Great for a Group!

I'm 29 and from the Boston area and I contacted Carolyn & Al about renting this property after finding the listing on Craigslist. We had a group of 5 girls going up for a cozy Vermont fall weekened, and the house was just perfect. Everything you could possibly need is in the house from linens to pots and pans to spices to wood for the fire place. The house is in a great location close to downtown stowe (and right near Rock Art brewery which we loved!) and easy to get to off of the main road. There is a grill and a huge backyard, and the kitchen is just perfect for cooking for groups. We hope to go back next year!

GREAT weekend

This is a great house for pretty much anyone....as long as you have a big group. We were there with 6 adults and 4 kids and still had room to spare!!! the house is immaculate and they had so much there for us to use. The kitchen was stocked and we were able to cook wonderful dinners and the table seated everyone comfortable! I would definitely recommend this house and would go back again. Great location and close to lots of fun activities.

A classic family/group ski house

Our ever-expanding family (6 adults and 4 kids) spent a long weekend at this great ski house. It is located not far from Stowe Village and the all-important Shaws supermarket. The house is clean and well equipped down to the most obscure kitchen utensil. Plus the extra-large kitchen table and of course the fireplace were a huge hit. Would definitely stay there again.
