This attractive summer house located at the end of a cul-de-sac and just 1+ miles to South Beach or the Edgartown Village. This vacations property offers privacy, 4 balconies with glass doors, 28' porch and 20' deck for all kinds of weather. An open floor plan with a great fully applianced kitchen, white-washed cabinets, tiled floor leads to a private and spacious deck and the dining room with windows plus a 9' glass door to a porch. The fireplaced living room with cottage white wood surrounds the fireplace while one of the sitting areas has windows on three sides. There's a first floor bedroom with twin beds and green marble tiled bath. A private atrium door leads out to a porch area. Leaded glass doors off front and back plus a leaded oval window and six more windows surround the walls of the cathedral ceiling entrance leading to the second level media/library room. There are two large bookcases built -in with a lighted sundial shape overhead.

The exposure to the east, south and evenings west light make this one of the favorite places to gather. The master bedroom with a queen bed has it's own tiled bath and balcony while the other two bedrooms on the other side of the house share a sparkling white tiled bath. The sky blue bedroom with antique full bed is painted in hues of ocean blues & has a balcony plus an area( bump-out) with windows surrounding a daybed (sleeps two) to curl up with a book. For the late sleepers there's the fourth bedroom with twin beds.... North side, cool, and tranquil.

The property is conveniently located to either town or to South Beach (Katama Area) of Edgartown. The house is at the end of a cul de sac and is a very private lot. There are houses on either side and one in the back yet they can barely be seen. There are paths for walking, rollerblading or bike riding either into town or to the beach, There's a trolley as well. Access the Beach via 4 wheel drive or park and walk right on to the Ocean. Katama Bay is wonderful for boating,kayaking and swimming. Or just down the Street is private Edgartown Bay. Perfect for clamming,boating,kayaking,sailing.Motor or kayak over to a private beach. It's quiet,relaxing and wonderful for a day at the beach. Close by are playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball, street hockey courts.A great place to meet other children in addition to the family beaches.

  • There are three full bathrooms and for the beach-goers a great outdoors shower complete with hot/cold water. Showering in the outdoors under the bright sun is most refreshing !! This is an area to rinse off all the beach sand as well from oneself and beach toys as well.

  • There are three bedrooms on the second level. The masterbedroom has a private bath and an atrium door to a balcony. Also on this upper level is a second livingroom with fireplace and a cathedral ceiling. This area is light, bright and makes for a very comfortable airy gathering place and has lots of windows with light from the East, also, the West evening light as well as windows to the Southern exposure On the other side of the house of this bookcased living area are two more bedrooms that share a bath. One bedroom is the blue room with a private balcony. This bedroom has a full bed plus a combination twin day bed w/ trundle. The second bedroom has twin beds and is on the north side of the house making it perfect for a late morning sleep. It is the only bedroom without a balcony.

On the porch there's another table and chairs. Rocking chairs as well. There is Cable for the Two TVs. There's a DVD/VCR player as well. A radio and CD player.

Island Retreat, My home away from home!

We look forward to our return to the South Beach house each year. It offers a quiet beautiful location ideally set between two of the islands best beaches and Edgartown. The dirt roads offer the perfect spot for our kids to ride bikes, discover nature and just be kids.

The house has decks galore to take in the sunsets, enjoy the ocean breeze, or just relax. We have always opened the doors to a immaculate and pristine setting with a welcome note to explain anything that we should possibly require.

We truly hope to spend many more years enjoying the house and all the island has to offer!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
