Not a Delight!

This house is dilapidated and run down. The furniture in the living room is very old and dingy. The kitchen is very old, there is not enough storage for food and the refrigerator appears to have rust on the outside. The floor in the bathroom seems to be sinking. The only good thing about the house is that it is close to town. Otherwise the best thing is the porch although the rocking chairs are very old and have splinters.
Owner's Response: This house is advertized as a "Victorian" original Ginger Bread Cottage dateing back to 1776. Our ancestors did not have closets since they only had 2 sets of clothes. Everyday and Sunday's best. They did not have kitchen cabinet's, they had shelves for dishes and storage. The daily food was taken from the garden so refrigerators were not invented. To have some conviences in this century we have added a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and blender. Oh yes, we put in a kitchen table for convience since our four fathers always ate in the dining room. Please keep an opened mind. This is a cottage that is only in use 4 months out of the year. It does not have heat nor insulation and due to the elements appliances will rust on the outside but the 18.8 cubic foot refrigerator works just fine fine. Common sence means the original kitchen now has become smaller to accommodate modern appliances. Some people like old, clean homes without the modern everyday look and feel. The OUT HOUSE is gone and since bathrooms came last, that is the last room added onto the house. Unfortunately my ancestor's placed the floor on the ground which has to be replaced every 4 years. The only thing new is the mattress' linens and curtains that are replaced every 5 years between washings.
For your modern convience I have added televisions, cable, DVD's, VCR's, and a Sterio. The rocking chairs are 5 years old shipped from down south. Kids rock and have a habitt of pulling at the rush seating. What the heck it only ads a little more charm to the very old house. Cannot satisfy everybody but I am sure you will enjoy your vacation.
