Lovers of urban tourism, however, will not be out of step. The region includes cultural, historical and architectural treasures. Just kilometres away lie some of the most beautiful villages in France like Baux de Provence or Saint Rémy de Servanne, or lose yourself in the old town of Arles, famous for its Roman and Romanesque buildings, in world heritage sites, such as les Arènes, or for its little Provençal streets. A dozen kilometres further away, discover Aix en Provence, capital of Provence, city of a thousand fountains, Avignon, its colour-filled festival and the majestic Popes’ palace, Marseille, the multi-cultural European capital of culture, or even Montpellier, with its exceptionally well-preserved city center.
From a practical perspective, just minutes away you can find all the little shops you need for everyday living (supermarket, bakery, etc.) The local gastronomy, strong in flavour and in colour, will make its way onto your plate in any one of the numerous charming regional restaurants.
