Chosen by Cape Cod Life magazine as one of the Top Ten places to stay on Cape Cod, our waterfront estate has breathtaking 180' views of Pleasant Bay, a 300' sandy private beach (this means just for YOU - not shared by the neighborhood.) plus you are directly on the water, not across the street or down the lane. There are 3 acres of open lawn, 17 rms, 9 bedrms, 5 1/2 baths plus an enclosed outdoor shower with dressing room. One wing of the house plus the 2nd floor has central air and the master bedrm has a window unit. The 2001 kitchen features a 48' Sub-zero refrigerator, Corian counters, plus the estate includes the former servants wing with a 2nd fully equipped kitchen. There is lots of room for everyone to spread out in this 10,000 plus sq. foot home with three living rooms, game room with pool table and darts, private deck on the beach, and mooring for your boat. Available by the week in summer and off-season weekends for vacations and important family gatherings. WIFI.

The fabulous estate.....: This very special property is a landmark to the area and owned by the same family since it was built on the shores of Pleasant Bay 100 years ago. It had been lovingly cared for and maintained and matches the grandeur of times past with all of the modern amenities. It is an ideal environment for multi generational family members to vacation together - or old or new friends with lots of children to spread out, enjoy each others company, yet find privacy and peace.

Down the end of an old cape cod road, then down the end of a private seashell driveway, there are no streets, traffic, or even pedestrians nearby. The private beach is private just for this house. It is reached by a pathway down the bluff in front of the house and features a deck to sit on if you get tired of the sand.

The Bay has a gradual sandy bottom, warm water is lovely for swimming, floating on rafts, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, and walking all along the shore.

The estate is in South Orleans equal distance between Chatham and Orleans. Chatham's beatiful Main Sreet is noted for its quaint Cape Cod feeling and variety of shops including restaurants, antiques, clothing, and surf shops. Pleasant Bay is excellent for swimming, sailing, fishing, wind surfing, kayaking, motor boating (your own or rent one) water skiing, or just walking the shoreline. The estate comes with a mooring and a skiff and oars.

Nauset Beach in Orleans has big waves for body surfing, boogie or skim boarding, surfboarding and surf casting for bluesfish and bass.

Skaket Beach in Orleans is noted for the warm salt water flats, sand bars, clamming, and is always a favorite for children. You can walk seemingly forever into Cape Cod Bay when the tide is out or just swim sand bar to sand bar when it is in.

  • The nine bedrooms are really nine bedrooms - not common rooms that become bedrooms at night with pull out sofas. There are no sofa beds, futons, trundle beds, bunk beds or cots. Everyone has a personal and private space. All of the bedrooms have twins beds or queens. The master bedroom has a king bed. Each bedroom sleeps two guests except for one extra large one that has a set of three twin beds. One wing of the house plus the two second floor bedrooms have central air. We celebrated our daughter’s wedding at the Gentle Heritage House of Winslow Waterfront Properties in June of 2012. It was truly a memorable occasion in a setting that was perfect for both the ceremony and the reception. The house is lovely and spacious, and family members who stayed there found it delightful in every way. The grounds are beautiful; and the property, which is on the shore with spectacular views of Pleasant Bay, includes a beach, which people enjoyed as well.

The owners are nearby and could not have been more helpful; any questions we had were answered quickly and thoughtfully. We thank them for their assistance all along the way in helping us to create such a wonderful celebration with our family and friends.

The Wedding of Our Dreams

It's difficult to describe the Winslow Estate's beauty and charm in a review. This magnificent property provided the most magical and beautiful setting for the wedding of our dreams on Columbus Day Weekend (which ended up being 80 degrees, by the way). The house alone is incredible with the ability to sleep 19 people, comfortably! It sits on beautiful Pleasant Bay in South Orleans and has a smaller house next to it, where my in-laws stayed. We were able to have our entire immediate family stay on the property with us and as a result, served as the perfect venue for a reunion-like weekend.

We were amazed by the antique mansion and how beautifully it has been cared for and preserved over the years. I felt like royalty eating dinner in the main dining room and sleeping in the luxurious four-post bed!

The entire property is immaculately landscaped and the private beach is beautiful and clean. We had a tented wedding overlooking the gorgeous, panoramic views of Pleasant Bay. Our guests are still talking about how great our wedding was and asking us how we ever found this property! We loved the elegant, but casual setting and couldn't have found a more perfect place to throw the best party of our lives.

I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to stay at the Winslow Estate and will be forever grateful that Ken and Ginger allowed us to host our wedding there. They were an absolute pleasure to work with and we hope to be able to return someday.

BEST Wedding Venue on Cape Cod

A charming, vintage, sea-side wedding with a back-yard, family feel. Breathtaking view of the water. Two brides. Sixteen bridesmaids. One hundred and forty guests. One week we will remember the rest of our lives.

The Winslow Estate and Bay House are beautifully maintained and located on one of the nicest locations on Cape Cod. Ken and Ginger are great to work with. It was the perfect place for our wedding. Many guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. If you want a place to gather your family and friends together and celebrate a special occasion- look no further than the Winslow Estate.

The Perfect Cape Cod Vacation

Words cannot describe how wonderful this property is. We enjoyed an absolutely perfect week here with our family of 14 celebrating our parents' 50th wedding anniversary. We ranged in ages from 3 to 80 and absolutely everyone loved this house.

The views of the water, from just about everywhere in the house or on the property, are breathtaking. The rooms are all spacious, bright, charminly decorated and extremely well mantained. There are plenty of places for people or groups (large or small) to escape to or gather in.

The grounds, with the large open lawn and the private beachfront where the children played for hours on end, are simply gorgeous.

Ken and Ginger are the perfect hosts---attentive, warm, welcoming and extremely helpful. They genuinely care about the house and anyone inhabiting it.

It is hard to imagine a better property on Cape Cod. We fell in love with this house and desperately hope to return some day soon.

Fantastic Wedding Location

We looked everywhere for a place on the Cape where we could have the kind of wedding we wanted - a beautiful setting, a place where friends and family could hang-out, the ability to have the kind of wedding we wanted (and not one planned by a resort/hotel/etc.). It was really difficult to find such a place since most private homes can't handle large groups of people. We feel incredibly lucky to have found the Winslow Estate and we had exactly the wedding we wanted here. We rented the space for the week and had our bridal party join us to hang out. We had a very small, low-key rehearsal on Friday night. And on Saturday we had a clam bake and played whiffle ball. I imagine this spot works just as well if you want a formal event, but for us it was the perfect place to have a laid-back, casual party at a gorgeous, comfortable location. I'm pretty sure there is no other place like it on the Cape.
