Bright, open, contemporary post & beam 'barn' with lots of glass on a wooded lot. Deeded rights to Baker's Pond and a short walk to Nickerson State Park. Cozy and comfortable with a mix of antiques and contemporary furnishings. Perfect location for mountain biking, hiking, and swimming. Close to both bay and ocean beaches. Large open living/dining/kitchen with upstairs sleeping loft and bath. Pull-out queen sleeper sofa in living room for extra guests.

A-Barn is all it seems to be

This is a lovely little house and looks and feels every bit as sweet as the pictures show. It is perfect for a couple (or a very small family), cozy and yet as roomy as you'd wish. All amenities were just as promised and described and the house was clean and well appointed.

We found the location very convenient, just off 6A and easy to go to the bay or ocean side of the Cape. The setting is quiet and relaxing, nice to come home to.

Our only frustrations - which did not prevent us from having a wonderful vacation - were that we couldn't figure out how to get the TV to switch over to the DVD player (which another reviewer seems to have been able to do). We aren't technically challenged, so it was a mystery why we couldn't get it to work and our hosts weren't able to walk us through it. We would suggest that they figure out a step by step and provide written instructions to guests. Also, we'd have wished they left us information on how to access the internet, if possible.

These things were minor and we loved our home away from home on the Cape.

Exceeding expectations

We had a wonderful vacation week in this old barn. The place was spotless when we got there, and it had all the amenities that were promised. The decor was beautiful (my 6-year-old said she wished the inside of the barn was our house ;)). The kitchen was a joy to cook in, and we had more than enough crockery and cutlery and gadgets. The extensive DVD library came in very handy on rainy days.
We also used the grill outside, and were very glad to be provided with charcoal and virtually everything else we needed in the way of tools.
The pond beach is only a 5-minute walk away, and a great place to go for a swim. It has a very large shallow area, so it was perfect for our small kids.
It was also great fun to see the rooster of wild turkeys every time we left our front door. We have no reservations about renting this old barn again!
