If you are looking to rent a house perfect for a summer holiday with your family then we think the setting and the facilities at our home would be perfect.
Obviously the heated and serviced 12m by 6m swimming pool is a large bonus and recently refurbished it offers a size suitable for a GOOD work out or just to relax and deep enough for all the family to practise their diving!
The house and gardens are absolutely delightful; photos do not really do either justice. The views from the garden are lovely and there is a real sense of peace all around. We saw red deer, green woodpeckers, various birds of prey, lots of rabbits. It was great being able to swim at any time of day and we made good use of the pool. The house itself is full of light, stylishly and simply decorated, and extremely comfortable. Basically there was everything we could have needed, and more, including pressed apple juice from the garden, lovely coffee and even a complimentary bottle of wine. The housekeeper had prepared everything for our arrival and was very helpful. the house was clean and the pool had just been serviced. Plenty of places to visit nearby - don't miss Chartwell and Standen, and the Chagall windows in Tudeley chapel. Thoroughly recommended - we were sad to leave and would love to stay here again.
A stunning house and amazing views . My son said " this is like living in a postal card " ! Very tranquil and beautiful. Having the binoculars near the patio doors is a nice idea. The rabbits in the garden kept us entertained !
The kids kept visiting the horses , at the bottom of the garden.
The kids loved the swimming pool . They were in it most of the time !
We had many BBQ's . The table tennis table is in very good condition.
Lovely big kitchen and a large fridge/freezer.
The boys loved the room above the garage . Pool table , TV ,DVDs , darts and very comfortable leather sofas.
Most importantly are the lovely touches of the owners . A bottle of wine and 2 bottles of freshly squeezed apple juice , on arrival ! We were allowed to use the food and the herbs , in the kitchen . The charcoal was ready , for the BBQ. 10's of table tennis balls . 2 computers , which are always on. Towels ,toilet paper , shower gel , hand cream ....etc.
The owner , Mr Dryden , is very friendly and decent.
The housekeeper , Leonie , is lovely , friendly and very helpful.
Highly recommended . THANK YOU.
We used this accommodation to meet up with family when visiting from New Zealand. It was ideal as there was plenty of space and due to the heatwave we could make good use of the well laid out swimming pool. The kitchen was well equipped and plenty of outdoor deck space to enjoy barbecues. It would have been helpful to have had access to front door as elderly mother in law is quite infirm and had to negotiate back door step. The property was clean and well maintained and there was an onsite manager for any queries we had and to look after the chickens. Would definitely recommend this property. We had a fabulous sun filled week!
In the heart of 'Winnie the Pooh' country in the beautiful Ashdown Forest, East Sussex, 5 minutes walk from the famous Pooh Bridge itself.Very rural setting and a 20 minute walk to the closest village of Hartfield, which has pubs, tennis courts, playground and a village shop. The closest town is Forest Row but the nearby towns of East Grinstead and Tunbridge Wells are 15 minutes drive away and there is a local bus service. London is accessible by train from either town. Brighton and the sea 40 minutes drive. A good selection of local walks available on footpaths from the house. Nearby attractions include Hever Castle, Bolebrook Castle, Penshurst Place, Chartwell, Wakehurst Place National Botanical Gardens, Ashdown Llama Park, Spa Valley Railway, Royal Tunbridge Wells.
