This remodeled west shore vacation rental cabin offers a tenant the best of the old and the new. The vacation cabin is located in Sunnyside, just south of Tahoe City (about 2 miles), and has been extensively remodeled. The cabin features clear grain Douglas Fir floors, rock fireplace, knotty pine accents, new hot tub in the back yard, free high speed wireless internet, separate laundry room, sunny front deck, and nicely landscaped parcel with a fenced yard. The vacation rental has tasteful furniture appointments that remind people they are in the mountains. The bedding configuration in the vacation rental is:
King (downstairs master bedroom)
Queen (upstairs bedroom)
Two Twins (upstairs bedroom)
Queen Aerobed (living room)
The location of the home is hard to beat. A guest can walk to Sunnyside Restaurant, Fire Sign Cafe (best breakfast spot in Tahoe), the private Tahoe Park beach (pier, lawn, picnic tables, bbq, etc.), and other conveniences or take the bike path that is only 200 yards away and take the bike path to Tahoe City (2 miles away).
*Please note this property rents from Saturday to Saturday during July and the first two weeks of August.
In the winter, from the vacation rental cabin you can access the ski bus shuttle (across from Sunnyside), and Homewood ski areas. Discount lift tickets are available for Northstar, Alpine Meadows and Diamond Peak (Save up to $14 per ticket).
This west shore vacation rental cabin is fully equipped with free high speed wireless internet, linens, bath towels equal to the maximum occupancy of the house, spa towels, pot/pans, dishes, microwave, coffee pot, TV's & DVD's, washer & dryer, and barbecue. The house will also provide a starter set of toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.

We live in the bay area and try and use the home as much as possible. We have equipped our home as a second home and not a 'rental.'
The Owner purchased this house in 2005
We place a high value on being able to walk to things versus driving. When we saw the location of the property we knew we were in the right place. We also didn't want a project and this home had been completely remodeled when we bought it.
You can walk to the Tahoe Park beach, local market and Sunnyside and Fire Sign restaurants. Guests can also take the bike path to Tahoe City. In the winter, you are close to ski areas including Homewood, Alpine Meadows, and Squaw Valley.
Wonderful cabin, fabulous location! Very comfortable. We had a very relaxing time. Loved the deck!
3 adults and 4 kids had plenty of room. Hot tub was enjoyed by all. Very close to the
Homeowner's Association private beach. Lots for kids to do. Sunnyside restaurant is walking distance. Really enjoyed the place. Will definitely return next year.
Fantastic home. Great location. Boat, bike, paddle board, jet ski rentals immediately nearby. Close to Tahoe City, but still quiet. Hiking and biking trails nearby are great. Beach club access a bonus.
My only recommendation would be to provide a fan for each of the upstairs bedrooms. They were hot in the evenings during a warm summer week.
It was truly like coming home. The cabin is well kept up and extremely comfortable. The deck out front was so inviting with just enough shade from the huge pine. Loved the fact that the master was downstairs, worked well for my dad who cannot climb stairs. Very comfortable. The only complaint that I have was I did not get great cell phone coverage from inside the cabin but then again what do you need a cell phone for while on vacation in such a beautiful location!!
The location of the Gagne home was perfect...could easily walk to the private beach and recreation area, 5-7 minutes to Tahoe City (shopping, eating or river rafting) and 15 to Squaw Valley. The home was very comfortable and cozy....great mountain feeling. The kitchen was awesome......any cooking utensil you needed, it had it and the quality was great. We loved the roominess of the kitchen and large table.....great place for family conversations while cooking/eating. We didn't use the hot tub or fireplace....too busy enjoying the days and nights to enjoy either one. Upstairs, in the room with the twin beds, is a wooden "treasure chest" filled with toys for small children. My grandson loved the train set. One thing we did notice when we arrived though....the house smelled very smoky....after about 4 days of leaving the window open when we were always there, the smoke smell diminished greatly. Otherwise, the place was fabulous for my family of four adults and one 3 and 1/2 year old.
My family and I had a nice stay here. Hot tub was a plus and the kids enjoyed it. House was clean and nicely remodeled and beds very cozy & comfortable. Location was very convenient. The negatives were furnace filter in kitchen was filthy dirty which made the furnace noisy and have to work harder than normal. Had to sweep decks off because piled with woodchips from yard which cause wetness to the wood.
We had a wonderful stay at Gagne cabin this past weekend. It was the perfect size for 4 adults and 3 kids. The beds were very comfortable! The kitchen table was roomy enough to fit us all and the location was ideal for beach play and lounging. The cabin was clean, well-maintained and very kid friendly. We would definitely come back again and recommend to friends.
