Disappointing stay

My 83 year old mother and I stayed at this house for 2 weeks beginning 7/25/09. The condition of the house was unacceptable with dirty rugs, dirty pots and pans, dirty dishes, a downstairs that smelled like a combination of urine and wet animal and overflowing garbage cans in the shed. In addition, there were dead bugs on the window ledges, missing and broken window shades and a filthy gas grill.
There is no outdoor shower, just a garden hose hooked up to a spigot with a hand held shower attached. The cable TV package is the most basic available. We found 5 channels to watch out of 22. The bed configuration as listed has changed with bunk beds in an upstairs room.
I contacted the owner about a non-working DVD player and the disappointing condition of the home. She directed me to the cable company about the DVD player and commented that this was a house not a hotel. The owner did not provide good service.
I would not recommend this house to anyone, especially not a family with young children or toddlers or the elderly.
Owner's Response: This renter was unreasonable in expectations & wrote this review after her security deposit had to be cashed to pay an additional $110.00 in cleaning fees assessed by the cleaning Co. after their stay.
Fact: This renter expected condiments to be provided (such as Ketchup, Mustard, Relish)
Fact: The DVD Player provided at the house works fine and was used the day before her stay, by us personally. After much time on the phone with the renter, I suggested she contact the cable company, only to discover that they didn't have the box plugged in.
Fact: This renter was given the opportunity to have a local relative come in prior to renting this house and refused.
Fact: The house has basic cable (25 stations) and WiFi
Fact: The bed configuration changed to increase an additional single bed, which did not have to be used.
Fact: The Cleaning Co. Charged an additional $110.00 after this renters stay to clean our home.
This house is only rented on occasion, because we live near by and use the house personally. We are a young family of 4, who stayed at this house directly prior to this renter.
