Lucky Dog Sea Lodge

Review Submitted: June 17, 2008 Date of Stay: March 2008
If you like the quiet life, this is the place for you. We were picked up at the airport and taken to the grocery store then right to the condo. It was everything that was advertized and more. It was clean and well maintained. I like the fact that there is no air conditioning, but you don't need it because of the tropical breezes that seem to always be blowing. Paula is wonderful to work with. We have stayed there twice and plan on going back again. I would highly recommend this property.
What more could you ask for than snorkeling 50 feet from where you are staying. The beach is never crowded. We have always had a relaxing wonderful time while there.
If you go, you need to go to the Sunday barbeque at the Driftwood Bar. It is very good, but make sure you get there early because the ribs go fast. Rum point is just down the road and is beautiful. It is close enough to walk to. You can snorkle or just relax and have a drink or lunch. It is also a wonderful place to watch the sunset. If you don't like crowds, stay away from Georgetown especially when the cruise ships are there.

Getaway was great!

Review Submitted: October 16, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We needed a getaway from the stress of this awful economy and found the Lucky Dog. It was all the owner promised and the real bonus was how quiet and peaceful we found the area. We were used to the Seven Mile Beach area of the island and this is a far cry from that touristy environment. I never slept so well as I did on that king size bed and to wake up and see the ocean first thing set the tone of our days there. We returned home feeling like new people.

Lucky Cat Sea Lodge

alwayshappens Beloit, Wisconsin & Hannover, Germany
Review Submitted: January 20, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
This was the most wonderful vacation we have ever had! Bruce and Paula were very accommodating as we had a group of 4 adults. The king size bed was literally a dream to sleep in and to wake up to look at the water was like a daydream. The futon was large enough to hold 2 adults with room to move. With all the comforts of home we cooked almost all our meals in the full kitchen or out on the grill. Walking the deserted beach during the sunrise drinking my first cup of coffee was as relaxing as it gets. Finding all the washed up shells, sponge and fans made great gifts for family back home.
The open air lodge was something none of us had experienced before. It was wonderful feeling the breezes floating through. We did have some high winds during our stay, but the broom swept out all the sand. The screened in porches were used alot for evening meals and to sip on our rum drinks. The snorkling was fabulous as the marine life was plentiful on our area. The closer to the reef the bigger the marine life became. Bruce was staying in the Lucky Dog Lodge while we were there and he was the perfect host! He assisted with snorkling and for finding the best local cuisine on the island. Other lodge owners were on site during our stay and they were just as friendly and helpful. We ventured to other parts of the island with our rental car to find we had the best location and facility on the island. The Lucky Dog/Lucky Cat Sea Lodges are quiet (exception of Rum Point), private and highly recommended! Thank you Bruce & Paula for the experience of a lifetime and for sharing your home with us!
May we all find the peace this island getaway provides....

If you are hoping to escape from the hectic pace of your stressful life and are looking for the tranquility that you thought only exisited in the movies then the Lucky Dog is for you!
Experiencing life without distraction is what you will find at this spectacular location. Situated right on the beach, the Lucky Dog offers seclusion and privacy. For as far as the eye could see along the white sand beach and turquoise water there were no people and the only sound heard was that of the waves against the shore and the birds in the sky. Inside, I was immersed with comfort and stillness. The cottage was just as described, but pictures and words cannot do this home justice. Sea breezes blowing through the living space offered a unique opportunity to experience harmony with nature. I traveled alone and without hesitation I say I always felt safe and secure. Paula and Bruce (the owners) were genuine and extremely accomodating. I highly recommend. Simply perfect!

Slice of Paradise

Katorisan Springfield, Il
Review Submitted: June 28, 2008 Date of Stay: January 2008
We stayed in Lucky Cat for a week in early January 2008. If you love peace, quiet and sea breezes blowing across the most comfortable bed ever, then this is the place for you.

Lucky Cat is on a more isolated, less tourist-y end of Grand Cayman. The cottage is comfortable, stocked with all the amenities. Fresh flowers were on the kitchen table the day we arrived. The shutter doors open to a porch with a fabulous view, great for sipping that rum drink as the sun sets. Just 1/2 mile up the road is beautiful Rum Point Beach with all the "beach toys" and yummy lunches. You can even catch one of the tour boats there for a day of snorkeling and swimming with the sting rays.

If you need loud night life, want to eat at American franchise restaurants and are addicted to TV, do not go to Lucky Cat. If you want a an island idyll on a moonlit ocean, local cuisine, and more stars in the sky than you can imagine-Lucky Cat is your kind of place.
