The property is located 2 1/2 miles from picturesque Somesville, home to quaint shops, a repertory theatre, a bookstore called Port in a Storm, a small grocery and a gas station. Bar Harbor is a mere 20-minute drive away, or consider the services of the free Explora bus to visit this famous tourist town as well as other towns and sights on the Island. Boasting many restaurants and shops, boat tours, whale-watching expeditions, shore hikes, cultural events and a myriad of sporting opportunities, Bar Harbor has something for everyone.
Acadia National Park:
Acadia National Park encompasses a good portion of Mount Desert Island with its numerous mountains and lakes. Trails for all levels of hiking and mountain climbing crisscross the Park and several lakes are available for swimming, boating and fishing. Taking Ocean Drive by car provides an excellent way to enjoy the many spectacular scenes on the Island.
