Glenaces is a great family beach holiday house, It is fantastic for a family get-together with plenty of room for all ages. It is equipped with all the modern technology that kids can't live without in this day and age which is perfect for the occasional rainy day, but when the sun shines, Glenacres comes into its own. You are situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. You are served by more than 20 miles of footpaths and bridle ways, all rich in wildlife. You can fossil hunt along the beach and along the cliff line or throw in a line and fish for mackerel. There has even been sightings of dolphins passing through. Nestled under 'Golden Cap', it is worth a walk to its summit as it gives an unrivaled view across Lyme Bay and towards the Isle of Portland with the walk beginning at Glenacres, the South West Coastal Path. Once down, you can sample the fresh local foods and ales at the 'Anchor Inn'. It is glorious!

There is a huge foodie culture in West Dorset and all reachable from Glenacres. It is a little more modern than your average cream tea. There's a great cafe culture, many fabulous restaurants and the pubs do brilliant food. The locals are spoiled for choice. There is the Wild Garlic Restaurant, Beaminster - Masterchef winner, Mat Follas, The Hive Beach Cafe, Burton Bradstock - one of the most idyllic and romantic eateries you will ever encounter, Hix Oyster & Fish House, Cobb Road, Lyme Regis - Chef Mark Hix's recently opened fantastic fish restaurant and not forgetting the famous River Cottage Canteen, Axminster, not even 20 minutes away. Hugh Fernleigh Whitingstall's canteen is all about great local food. "All tried and tested and in need of a walk up Golden Cap!"

There are 3 good supermarkets including a newly opened Waitrose in the town of Bridport, but more importantly many local butchers, greengrocers, fishmongers and bakery. The Waitrose in Crewkerne will deliver to the property. There is a farm shop in Morcombelake, 5 minutes west of Chideock with an array of local produce. Morcombelake also has a fine art gallery.
