THE MACKEDIE RETREAT-STUNNING LUXURY HOME. CLOSE TO HEAVENLY!

I've been renting properties in Tahoe for several days at a time over the course of last 10 years. So I'm looking at this from the point of reference based on my usual experience and what is typically available in the area. While overall the house is a good deal for the money, it is spacious, and the location is very convenient, there were many things about the property that were not "up to par" with what you can generally get in the Tahoe area. I'll list them out:

- The neighborhood - while you should expect to have neighbors nearby, you typically have them really close to your property on one or two sides only, but here we were surrounded by them in such close proximity, that it made things uncomfortable. Really loud folks across the street were waking up super early and were really annoying.
- The TVs - most rooms had flatscreens, but the one in the living room is so screwed up, with a line of dead pixels right down the middle, which made any DVDs or cable barely watchable.
- The Kitchen - while generally well-stacked, only had one good size cutting board and was missing many key pieces of kitchenware that you would typically expect to find.
- The pool table - every cue/stick was so worn out, it made the game pretty much unplayable.
- Furniture - the beds were not very comfortable and squeaky, and half the chairs at the main dinner table were worn out beyond usability - all flimsy and shaky.

In general the feel was "so-so", while most of the time I'm very satisfied with the quality of the rental properties in Tahoe that I get through VRBO. This house felt like it is only used for rentals and is not very well maintained and kept up. Too many things are worn out and feels like very little care is put into it. The potential is there, but some investment is needed to make it comfortable for the guests.

OMG! WOW! This home was amazing! I stayed here with 11 friends for 3 nights September of 2010. From the moment we drive up to the driveway to the moment we left, the experience of this home was unforgettable! The owners thought of everything! Even with 12 people in the home, we still had plenty of room to relax and have fun. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was big, clean, in amazing condition and was the perfect blend of modern with that Tahoe feel. I definitely recommend this home for a vacation getaway in Tahoe! Absolutely Amazing! Looking forward to my next stay here!

Fantastic brand new five start condo minutes from all the action of South Shore Tahoe. Heather (agent) works endlessly to gurantee an amazing tahoe experience. We even left a pair of shoes behind and she had them fed-ex'd to us within a week. That is what I call excellent customer service. Highly recommended.
