The perfect place

I have stayed at this place numerous times over the last 3 years (when I've had vacation time) and it is the perfect spot to vacation in any season. You are sitting up high overlooking Lake Rescue with Okemo Mountain off in the distance (magnificent views from a long set of windows across the entire place) and when you walk down to the dock you have a canoe as well as three kayaks waiting for you. Paddling around on the lake you will see loons, fresh water cormorants and great blue heron.
The location is perfect also- the elbow of a peninsula facing south down the lake. Near enough to Okemo and Killington (the town of Ludlow is about 8 minutes away) and yet a little bit isolated and quiet. Sitting in the hot tub on the deck looking up at the myriad stars (on a cool night) is also an incredible treat.
The unit itself if completely modern with laundry facilities and a couple of different heating options. The owners are avid mountain bikers and if you would like the absolutely BEST tips for local riding, there are incredible roads and trails all around this area. Even when it rains this is an magical place to be. Just the right size and in the right location. Don't think twice.

Tranquility near plenty of things to do!

The pictures really don't do this justice. This home in Ludlow is SO tranquil - overlooking a beautiful lake and near plenty of hiking trails, ski runs, groceries, restaurants, etc.

We went to see the Fall foliage & were not disappointed. If you are looking to stay in the area - don't hesitate - this is a gem!!!

The listing doesn't do this place justice. It was even better than the pictures and the description !! The perfect getaway...pristine condition!!! I could not have asked for a better romantic getaway. Stayed Oct.23rd through the 25th, 2009. Hottub, canoe..the falls, Vermont Country Store..everything close by !! Windows overlooking Lake Rescue !! GORGEOUS !! Mary....I can't wait to come back...I hope it is VERY VERY VERY SOON !! Thank you again..you are a wonderful person....CATHY & TOM

Our family vacation at this Lake Rescue house was wonderful. The house was clean, warm and cozy, with all the amenities you could ask for. The lake was steps from the house with beautiful views of the lake and mountains. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating, taking time from their busy days to enjoy some time together with their guests, It is hard to keep two teenage boys busy, but they had no problem, there were plenty of things to do, both on the lake and around the area. Boating, canoeing, fishing, hiking, biking, swimming and jumping off the islands rope swing. Or just sitting on the dock reading a good book. Its a GREAT place to relax and unwind. We will definately return again soon.

Wonderful Vacation Spot

Needing a break from a crazy schedule, we decided to rent this home for a week over the summer and we are so glad we did! The home was exactly as it is described, quiet, romantic, and in a beautiful setting. The views of the lake are breathtaking, whether in the early morning, in the middle of the day, at sunset, or during a rainy afternoon. We enjoyed quiet, lazy days on the lake and perfect evenings barbequing, sipping wine on the deck, and soaking in the hot tub watching the stars overhead. I would recommend this vacation spot to couples looking to get away as well as to families seeking to enjoy a fun time at the lake swimming, fishing, kayaking, and tubing. The home was very clean and had all of the amenities listed in its description. I recommend exploring the surrounding area when you have time. Driving up the mountain drives at Okemo Resort and Jackson Gore provide spectacular views and nearby Coolidge State Park had perfect hiking trails. I would also recommend taking the short drive to the Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory and stopping in at nearby Long Trail Brewery for great food and drink.
