Had a wonderful stay with five friends in January. Sue was easy to work with during the booking process, and extremely responsive and flexible with the one minor snafu I encountered. Would definitely book again. Note the upstairs can get a bit chilly (ground floor is perfect) and Sue does provide space heaters in each bedroom.
This is an absolutely perfect house with a home away from home feel! The house is spacious and beautifully decorated to maintain the farmhouse feel. There is plenty of room for adults and children--the bedrooms have ample space for sleeping and for bags/gear without feeling crowded. The bathrooms are big and clean and the kitchen is great for cooking for a crowd. We loved the open living room which gave plenty of room for us all to hang out together. In addition, the location of the house is superb--just a minute from town and the grocery store, restaurants, and cute little shops. We drove about ten minutes to Plymouth State Park and enjoyed several days on the beautiful lake with beach. This is a great house for the summer, not only for the winter! There is a great yard also where kids can play soccer, bocce, and outdoor games and a great porch to enjoy the cool evenings. I hope to make this an annual event for my family. I couldn't have found a more charming home with beautiful views, spacious bedrooms and living space, and wonderful renters.
We have stayed in Vermont the last three years, and this has thus far been our favorite! Charming rustic farmhouse with comfortable and cozy rooms. Living room nice size for a group to "hang out" and visit and enjoy wood stove. Large dining table for all to enjoy a meal together, or play card games, etc. Ideal location for Okemo, and a comfortable drive to Killington. Just outside the quaint town of Ludlow, where you can find a grocery store, cute little shops to browse, etc. Loved that the owner has maintained the "farmhouse feel" to the house, making it a wonderful and relaxing retreat.
This year was our second year at the house for New Years. With a total of 10 adults and our three year old daughter, we all had a blast and look forward to this vacation all year. Our group of friends had plenty of space to lounge out, enjoy the fire and the winter classic hockey game on TV. Our "family" dinners as we joked about all weekend had plenty of room at the table and nothing was better than the view out the window in the morning. Sledding right across the street and Ice Skating at Jackson Gore or even the Lake Behind the Barn is a plus. Access to the mountain from the shuttles was great and the location in reference to grocery shopping or ski rentals was close enough to throw a rock at for me. This house is a rare find with the perfect setup. Very country and laid back. You can access the internet if you want, or you can simply enjoy a vacation with friends or family without all the gaudy technology that distracts our everyday lives from the great outdoors and bonds we can all build in homes like this. Every time I walked through the door I felt like I was home and wished I had lived there all my life. Thanks Again from all of us from the Bellmore FD Annual New Years Trip.
We had 4 wonderful days in this nice house. 1st floor is very convenient with roomy dining room and very comfortable living/fireplace room. Very convenient location for skiing in Okemo: with all craziness about Okemo holiday parking you can take a shuttle or even walk (~10 min) to and from the mountain, or have one designated driver and leave the car near the house, for example.
Please note after a huge snow storm only 4 wheel drive car could get to the house for 2 days despite the roads were reasonably clean (not enough sand and salt?).
We enjoyed views from the house, reliable and fast internet, well packed kitchen. We had to figure the heat settings for the night but slept well.
My group of friends stayed in mid-March for a long weekend. The house was perfect for a group of middle-aged singe travelers. The bunk room provided space for the guys and the gals used the other bedrooms. The two large bathrooms required a bit of coordination and communication but worked out well.
We hosted our usual Friday night dinner, a small group of 18, and had plenty of room. The bedrooms were comfortable, it was easy to bring our own linens, and we loved saving the extra fees.
The homeowner was easy to communicate with and made the experience easy.
We will definitely consider this home again.
