We are dog friendly! If you always travel with your best friend, this is the place to be. What dog doesn't enjoy a walk through the meadow and woods with all those lovely scents.. - We have recently (summer of 2008) completed total window replacement in the home. All windows are thermopane, low E glass argon filled for high energy efficiency. We have also completed residing the exterior with cedar shingles with a weather barrier underneath. Our home is about 1500 square feet and was economical to heat in previous seasons using on average 115 gallons of fuel oil per month for the 5 month winter season. We expect this season should result in greater energy savings with the improvements we have made.

Think summer and fall! The home is sited with plenty of room for the kids and/or pets to play in the sunny meadow. Catch fireflies in early summer and watch the Perseid meteor showers on the lawn in mid-August. The woods surrounding the property are fun to explore and will let their imaginations run wild. Hike or bike from the house along the level West River Trail for about 2 miles beside the lovely West River. You might find toads along the path or see or hear ruffed grouse drumming. Deer appear early in the morning at the fringes of the field. Play croquet, badminton or volleyball on the lawn. Wade in the West River or sit in the sun on the large rocks. Kayak or canoe or fish in Gale Meadow Pond or take the gondola at Stratton to the top of the mountain and hike to the fire tower for incredible views of the Green Mountains. Meet the caretakers of the Appalachian Trail at the base of the fire tower. Drive to Weston to visit the Vermont Country Store or enjoy a play.
South Londonderry is a great little village to spend the winter. Although the home is situated on a quiet country road, it is town maintained and plowed throughout the winter. The supermarket is only 3 miles away as are numerous excellent restaurants. Cross country ski the West River Trail which can be accessed just a short walk from the house.
