Wow! Big, easy, right on the lake

Memorial Day turned out to be a little cool for swimming, but my family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Took us an hour and 50 minutes from Lowell (Boston), going kinda fast because we were glad to get out of town. He's not kidding about the long driveway - seems like we drove through the woods quite a ways before you get to the house. We were so far from the road I felt comfortable just letting the kids run. We saw a buck in the driveway, so don't go too fast. But then we saw the house and the screened porch and the docks and the boats and we knew we'd chosen the right house. My kids were constantly torn between the boats and the woods, and they had a great time sleeping in the porch. The key was in a lockbox, so we just let ourselves in and made ourselves at home - no manager there to count the children and make sure we didn't bring too many. The kitchen was ready to go, as was the grill. We enjoyed five days of campfires, fishing, canoeing, walking in the woods, sitting and listening to the waterfalls, etc. etc. etc. The satellite TV did come in handy when it rained, and there were some family staple movies left to watch (Pirates, Indiana Jones, that sort of thing). Andrew & Tammy sent us a customized Google map showing the area attractions, the best restaurants (they have good taste and didn't break the bank), the two markets nearby, and such); we though they were very easy to deal with, and we just got our deposit back. We'll definitely be back next summer, but maybe a little later in the summer when the lake's warmer.
Owner's Response: We're glad Craig and family had a good time; they also emailed some great suggestions on a few things the house ought to have, and we've ordered them from Amazon in time for the next renter. June's long days warm the lake up, and Wilmington has a great 4th-of-July fireworks display.
