Villa Gardenia is a very nice detached house situated in a peaceful area of Palermo. It is only 3 minutes far from the highway, so that you can easily reach some excellent beach locations such as Mondello (15 minutes), San Vito Lo Capo (1 hour) and Cefalù (1 hour).
The house is fine furnished, with big attention paid to the guests’ comfort. There are three cosy bedrooms, two of them are with double beds, the other one has two single beds; one bathroom with shower and bath; a comfortable living room furnished with sofas, TV and a nice fireplace; a nice and fully equipped kitchen; a spacious balcony provided with table and chairs. Furthermore, the house has a charming outside space with a marvellous swimming pool, sun-chairs, sun-beds, one hammock and a shadow corner equipped with tea table and benches, where having relaxing moments.
Here you will spend a wonderful holiday, totally absorbed by the quietness of the place and delighted by the Sicilian typical hearty welcome.
Its position and its comfort make it the ideal place for those who love both to visit the environs of their own holiday places and to enjoy resting moments at home.
The house is located halfway between the historical heart of Palermo and its beach suburb, Mondello. The old part of the city is full of art, history and very interesting sights; among them we point out: Piazza Ruggero Settimo, better known as Piazza Politeama thanks to its renowned theatre, Piazza Verdi and its Massimo theatre, the biggest one in Italy and the third one in Europe; the multi-styled Cathedral whose majesty really fascinate everyone; the “Quattro Canti”,a crossroad sculpted by the architect Giacomo Serpotta; the royal Palace and its Palatine Chapel built under Ruggero II, the famous Norman king. Additionally, some typical street markets, the International puppet museum and lots more.
Moreover, the residence Gardenia is on the doorstep to one of the most famous shopping street of the city, viale Strasburgo.

Besides churches,you must visit “Chinese Palace”,the oriental building surrounded by an elegant garden which reaches the foot of Monte Pellegrino, an hill famous for its Sanctuary and where you can enjoy a marvellous landscape. There is also an hidden Palermo,that one of underground architectural works:the mystery of Beati Paoli’s places and the excellence of the natural underground plumbing system,called “Qanat”,will take your breath away.
Palermo also catches your senses with its typical cooking,full of unique smells and flavours. Our sweets such as “cassata” and “cannolo” are famous all over the world;the preparation of the tasty “pasta con le sarde”, “arancine”, “anelletti al forno”, “caponata di melanzane” is a real rite. But what is a very important tradition is the “street cooking”, which includes a wide and various range of food,such as “pani e panelle”,“pani ca’ meusa”, “sfincione”, “stigghiola”, “vastedda” and so on .. Palermo has celebrated its patron Santa Rosalia since 1625.The so called “Festino” is the most important feast for people of Palermo. It is on 15th July, but the great celebration is the night before, when the statue of the Saint wanders the streets of the old part of the city, that are full of food and toys stands. At the end of the holy procession there are very stunning fireworks in the seaport,far only 5 minutes from Residence Aimone.
Mondello is the charming seaside suburb of Palermo, situated between the two natural reserves of Monte Pellegrino and Monte Gallo. It has a very interesting history, since it was born as a fishing marshy village and, little by little, it has begun an high-class tourist place, full of excellent fish restaurants, resorts, liberty-styled villas and lots more. It has a lively seafront and well-organized beaches; its lovely bay encompasses a characteristic marina, where admiring the old watchtower of Fico D’India and the “tonnara”, a Sicilian typical building for tuna fishing.
In summertime, Mondello is place of music and sport events. The most famous one is the “World festival on the beach”, an International sport festival, which includes beach volley, kite surf, windsurf, sailing and musical shows, hosting athletes and famous people from all over the world. It takes place in the end of May and it usually lasts 4-5 days.
