Alburg Lake House

Submitted: July 28, 2008 Stayed: June 2008
2008 was about the 5th year that I and my friends have rented the house in Alburg. Everything you need is provided. It is a very peaceful location with the sounds of the Lake rocking you to sleep each night. The views of the Lake are spectacular, especially the sunsets over looking the Adirondack Mountains. The area is great for the outdoorsman, fishing being the reason We return each year. There are plenty of boat ramps around and a dock at the house if you so desire.

Wonderful Stay...

Submitted: September 16, 2012 Stayed: August 2012
Stayed for 2 weeks, from end of August through Labor Day....and found this a perfect place to totally disconnect and relax. The house has a very inviting essence, the screened porch is amazing ...and Anne provides numerous thoughtful amenities for a weary traveller. The bathrooms & bedrooms are large and clean..and there are plenty of extras. We played croquet on the lawn, grilled and enjoyed cocktails watching the water.
The water level has been low in Vermont, but thats just mother nature. Just waded out a little to kayak..and overall that did not detract from taking a quiet walk in fresh air, the beauty of watching a family of ducks..or my peaceful enjoyment:-) I look forward to going back.

Serenity

5 of 5
Submitted: June 21, 2012 Stayed: June 2012
This house was perfect for my family. We stayed for a week in early June and couldn’t have hoped for better. The house itself, which is located down a very private dirt road, was spacious and comfortable. The bedrooms are a good size, as were the bathrooms, and the whole place was very clean. The screened porch is fantastic, by far our favorite room, and the views of the lake are great. The water was warm for June and the lake bottom is mostly sandy with very clear water. It is also quite shallow for a good distance from shore, but that suited us well as we have a young child. Also, there is a very nice little yard on the side of the house which was perfect for our son to play in. The owners provided 4 kayaks and boards which we put to good use on the surprisingly calm waters. The town of Alburgh isn’t much, but it has your basic conveniences. St. Albans and Burlington are both nice daytrips, while New York is less then a ten minute drive away and so is the Canadian border.

On the whole we were all very pleased with our stay. Be aware that the house does not have cable or satellite TV, which was not an issue for us, but the owners do have one of the largest movie collections I have ever encountered so there is always that option. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway from all of the hubbub of work and the daily grind, this is absolutely a fantastic place to stay.

Fantastic Getaway

We went for a week away for relaxation and to be revived - and that's exactly what we got. To be so close and connected to the lake is really amazing - at any time you can simply step into the screened in porch or walk ten feet from the house and experience the serene magnanimity of Lake Champlain. The house is clean, well furnished and spacious, and seems to have just about everything you would need to get along. Alburgh is a small, quiet community but you are not too far from any necessity. Canada is also just a short distance and a great day trip. Anne was great to deal with, and promptly responsive to all of the little questions we had. This was a great experience, and we would recommend this rental to anyone.

Perfect House to Kick Back and Relax

5 of 5
Submitted: September 12, 2010 Stayed: September 2010
Just got back from Anne's house. We had a perfect time. The house is in perfect condition when you show up with everything you need.

It is a perfect place to kick back and relax. Morning coffee sitting in the covered porch or out on the dock, reading during the day out on the lounge chairs and grilling out at night with some wine.

Very easy to deal with Anne and she had everything prepared.

We would love to stay again.

-Chris and Michelle from Chicago

PS.. If you get to stay there, buy some live lobsters and enjoy them out on the deck under the stars... It made for the perfect evening.
