Fabulous for family gatherings

We had a fabulous time in Clan Chattan - a perfect house for a family gathering of 6 adults & 4 children. The 5 bedrooms were comfortable & the 4 bathrooms were ideal for simultaneous showers!. It was great being able to seat 10 comfortably round the table in the kitchen to share memorable mealtimes. The house was warm despite it being a very chilly Easter & the fire in the living-room was a real bonus at night.
This spacious house is right in the village of Newtonmore & within easy walking distance of the supermarket, bars & cafes. We loved the Highland Folk Museum & it was great to spot the various 'wildcats' en-route ticking off the various designs on the chart. The wildcat trail is varied & although we did not manage all of it - we did try out sections. We managed to roll our easter eggs down the wooded slopes of a small river valley & we had the whole area to ourselves for an easter egg hunt!
Although the house is on the main road we were not disturbed by road traffic & there was a small area fenced off at the rear where the children could safely play with a ball.
We had a great time & would love to go back.

Lovely house in an ideal location

We booked this property for our Christmas family get together. We were a group of 8 adults, 3 small children and 2 dogs. We all thought the property was perfect. Large and roomy enough so that everyone could have space when needed. Plenty of seating in the kitchen and cosy lounge for everyone to sit for meals and relaxing. The 4 bathrooms were ideal too. The house was nice and warm too.
The house was presented to a very high standard and was thoroughly refurbished. The owners were very helpful from the moment we first enquired and made us feel very welcome. They gave advice on local shops and facilities.
Newtonmore was a great place to stay. A friendly little village with good local coop, places to eat and drink and good local walks from the doorstep. Easy to get to places such as Inverness, Aviemore, Loch Ness and the Cairngorms. Some of the activities that various members of our group enjoyed included sledging at Tomintoul, taking the Funincular railway to the top of Cairngorm, round of golf on the Newtonmore golf course, visit to see the Polar Bears and other animals at the nearby Wildlife Park, ice skating at Inverness, meal and drinks at the Balavil Hotel, Ceilidh band in the Braeriach Hotel and a walk along the river from Loch Morlich to the top of Cairngorm.. Didn’t manage the Dalwhinnie distillery-but have that planned for our next trip!
All in all I would thouroughly recommend this property and location.

We also love visiting other new places within the UK and Europe so when thinking about what we wanted to acheive we thought of our own experiences and tried to create a holiday home that we would want to return to.
