Freshford House sits opposite in a beautiful village close the the World Heritage City of Bath Spa. Access to Bath is easy, by car (15 mins) or by train ( 5 mins walk to the station and then 10 mins on the train). There is beautiful countryside all around with lots of opportunity for walking through woodlands, hills or by the river and you can swim in the river. There are good cycling paths and a tow path along the canal where you can cycle into Bath. Boats can be hired on the canal. The famous Italian gardens of Iford Manor are within walking distance as is the castle of Farleigh Hungerford. There are lots of pretty villages to visit such as Lacock or Castle Coombe where Steven Speilberg filmed Warhorse.
In Bath itself there is beautiful architecture, the famous Roman Baths, the Spa Bath with its mineral waters and massages , cinemas, art galleries, a swimming pool and good shops, restaurants, bars and cafes.
