Everything we expected, charming, clean, home away from home, very large home. Owners were very sweet, they gave us lots of information and advice. Sat on the beach for coffee in the mornings and evening. Took day trips everywhere, Camden, Rockland, Rockport (these are all no more than 30 minutes away & inland to Moosehead Lake (this was a 3 hr drive, leave early so you can spend the day, Norman Rockwell town). Sailboat rides close by, trip by ferry (1 hr.) to Vinalhaven was well worth the fee. Nice & spacious, quiet area, with gorgeous views. Lovely yard, lots of flowers and very gracious neighbors. Owls head is a darling little town and everyone is so very friendly. Lots of history and art everywhere. The home was decorated with lots of charm, plenty of books to read, which was wonderful. This was our first trip to Maine and a very memorable trip. We both decided it was our favorite place we had been to as far as comfort. We felt at home, we love the water and just sitting at the quiet beach listening to the water was great. Nice area to take morning or evening walks, very, very safe area. Talk to the locals, they are all very sweet and will tell you the best places to eat. Owls Head General Store is a must.
