These North Carolina mountains are the most magnificent mountains in the world! As an Artist, I spent 5 years walking land to find just the right spot to build this retreat. I had lived in Burnsville, NC for many years and loved living in a place where you can witness the sunrise and the sunset with plenty of space to visually look out for long distances, rather than being enclosed by trees or in a hollow. The view takes you out of the mundane problems of life, and lifts you into an inexplicable place of beauty and serenity. Having lived in the mountains for many years, I know how a particular place can nourish and restore a soul, and this place was chosen for the gifts of beauty that it gives to everyone who comes here.
Beauty, rainbows, and double rainbows, 70 mile views, awesome sunrises, and pink and purple sunsets....quiet, peaceful, and beauty that lifts your spirit. Pastoral storybook views, yet all of the amenities of home, and only 12 miles to the center of Asheville. Book now, you'll be glad you did.
What a wonderful and relaxing time we had at your beautiful mountain retreat! Thanks so much for sharing your little piece of paradise. It was so peaceful to sip our morning coffee listening to all those different bird songs, and of course, the local rooster. And night time was just magical! Rocking under a star filled sky while serenaded by croaking frogs. But the biggest treat and great surprise was the host of dancing fireflies. We've never seen so many glowing for so long! (No need for TV with night life like that.) An inside was as much a feast for the eyes as out. How Beautiful and artfully decorated your home is- yet comfortable and welcoming too. The only thing we needed was a little more time here. We hope to return someday.
I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful experience my four sisters and I had at
your home last weekend. We were like giggling children when we first
entered the house and realized it was even more beautiful than the
pictures. And the wonderful aroma that greeted us put us in such a
tranquil mood all weekend.
We did 2 short trips to Asheville. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously but we all couldn't wait to get back to our retreat and enjoy each other's company. We sat by the fire with our wine and caught up on family news. We actually woke early enough to see a morning sunrise while sitting in the rockers on the porch. It was pure bliss.
Thanks Caty for a wonderful place to enjoy family time. We enjoyed are trips into town but the time on the deck was the best. This is a great place to enjoy a mountain view stay. Hope to return again.
A very upscale rental with lovely artwork, pottery and furnishings. Beautiful long-range mountain views from a protected deck with wonderful rocking chairs! Watch the birds visit the feeders and hear the frogs croaking! Comfy beds, well-appointed and spacious. Convenient parking and an easy 25 minute drive into Asheville. Highly recommended!
This cabin offers a very comfortable stay with a rustic feel but with all the comforts of home. Beds are very comfortable. It has beautiful decks, expansive views, and an interior that is warm wood. There are artistic appointments throughout. It may not be the closest cabin to Asheville, but when your touring in town or hiking or brewery sampling is done, you won't find a better place to retire for the evening. I would definitely seek this rental out for future trips to Asheville.
This spacious cabin was the perfect setting for our family gathering which included ages 3 to 87 years old. There were lots of lovely spaces to commune together or to find solitude...The decks, front and back, with cushy rockers were the favorites in the cool mornings and evenings. Whether watching the sunrise or enjoying the fireflies, life was good in this bucolic spot.
The cabin is exactly as presented in the photos, warm and inviting. Beautifully appointed with artwork and artifacts from local artists and from afar, the cabin presents a sophisticated, yet homespun atmosphere that would appeal to anyone. A nice surprise is an offering of books and reading materials to parooz at length. Also, the cabin is clean and the furniture and beds are all comfortable.
When coming in from the west, use a GPS. The mileage given in the written directions is off by 1/4 ~ 1/2 mile or more in some cases. Some roads have no signage. Don't try to find it the first time after dark. The roads are paved with no problems. Now that we know where it is, we'll be returning! It's worth the drive!
Thank you, Caty, for creating such a wonderful home away from home...It's one of those rare "thin places" to find spirit and life renewal...
Although the weather didn't cooperate, the cabin more than fulfilled our expectations. We had luxurious rooms for both of my adult children and their spouses and a very nice room for me. The living area is spacious and we enjoyed having a fire in the fireplace on those chilly evenings. We were able to cook family meals and banter with each other to our hearts content. Lovely porch. It's about a 35" drive into Asheville on paved secondary roads and highway. The cabin was clean, offered many amenities and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils. If I'm able to come back down to this area, I'll certainly reserve this cabin again.
