Can't say enough good things about this condo and the owner. Owner was very professional, upfront, and timely with payments and the security deposit return, as well as getting us information about our stay.
As far as the condo - it literally is a ski on ski off location, less than a 100 yard walk to the trail getting you to the bear mountain lifts. The inside was more spacious than the pictures show. Everything was in great working order, beds were super comfortable, and the layout of the furniture within the condo was conducive to a big group. Would definitely recommend.
Very pretty condo, perfect for 8 up to 10 people. Everything is there! We wish we could stay for a longer period next time :) A note to the owner, you should definitely update the pictures...
We just returned from staying at this condo for a portion of winter vacation week. The pictures are deceiving as there is MORE room than there appears (in my opinion). I stayed with my 9 year old son, and friend with her three kids. They had planty of room/space, as did the adults. There were so many towels, fresh soaps, tons of toiletries and all the comforts of home left for us to use. I drove down to the bear mountain base to grab our lift tickets and there were NO cars there, so we decided to drive and park there (even though the sunrise lift was working). On our last day it was icy and some of the lifts closed, so we got a voucher to use within the next year and after checking out of the condo, we stayed and played at the swimming pool all day and had lunch at the cafe. There was also sledding in the back (they had sleds for us to use) and ice skating on the small pond. It was just an very kid friendly atmosphere, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. This was a wonderful spot with so many options. I highly recommend it!
My wife and I and a group of friends recently stayed at this condo over New Year's. It was fantastic and much better than we even anticipated.
The condo could comfortably fit 10 as it has lots of room. It is 3 stories. On the top floor are 2 bedrooms - 1 with a king and 1 with 2 twin beds. The main level has the kitchen, a sitting/TV area, a dining area and another bedroom with 2 twins. The bottom level has a large couch and a pull-out. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Sheets and towels were provided, which also was very nice. The owner - Gerald Mahoney - was also extremely helpful throughout; he provided clear and concise information, and promptly responded to all emails and questions.
The Sunrise Condo complex has a health center and a restaurant. We never tried the food there, but the outdoor hot tub was very nice after a long day on the mountain. The center was about 1/2 mile drive from the unit, and could be walked if the weather permits.
The location I think was the best part about our stay. It's a very quick 2' drive to Bear Mountain, which seemed to be the quietest area to start skiing in Killington. Parking was never a problem and the lift lines were always very short. Compared to the other bases, it seemed much easier to get in and out of this base. (The Sunrise condos are actually ski on/ski off, but unfortunately there wasn't enough snow during our stay to open those trails. At later points in the winter, though, I'm sure that would be a great addition.) The main restaurants and bars were about 10' away. Shuttles are available to pick you up, but frankly we had so much fun sitting around the condo we didn't go out much.
In summary, I would highly recommend this unit to anyone. It was comfy, convenient and provided our group with a great place to celebrate the New Year.
We had 2 families visit for a weekend of skiing. This town house was very comfortable for our party of 8. We could have easily had a few more people join us. The slopes are about 100 yards from the front door so easy ski on/off. The home was very comfortable and very well stocked. Many of the items you would normally purchase in a grocery store were already in the cabinets. Gerald Mahoney is the owner. He was a pleasure to work with. Easy paperwork and payment process. He even allowed us to check in a few hours early which made it very convenient for our family. The home is 12 minutes from downtown Killington where there are great restaurants and nightlife. We went snowmobiling about 10 minutes from the house. The health spa had 2 hot tubs and an indoor pool. All things considered, this was a fantastic accomodation at a very reasonable price. I highly reccomend for adults or families with children. We look forward to visiting again in the future. John Byrne- NJ
