These are two, adorable, one bedroom cottages in a great location! Perfect for a romantic retreat, solitary getaway, or close-knit family vacation. They are two of four cottages known as Beach Garden Cottages.(See links at bottom of page to view our other cottages.) The cottages are clean, bright, comfortably and tastefully decorated with full kitchens and baths. Cottages are surrounded by unique and creative gardens and have decks landscaped for privacy with flowering shrubs and perennial beds. A perfect place to relax and cook out. They are located on a quiet side street only a short walk to Newport's Easton's Beach (a.k.a. First Beach). First Beach has public facilities, a carousel, playground and twice weekly evening entertainment. It is a great area for walking, running, biking, roller blading, surfing and kayaking. All equipment available to rent nearby. Restaurants are within walking distance and downtown Newport is only 1.5 miles away.

The cottages are located on a quiet side street tucked back behind a hedge. It is an easy walk to the beach of about two blocks. There are no fees to walk on to the beach. There are restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance. The downtown Newport waterfront is about 2 miles away where there is wonderful shopping, dining and nightlife. There is so much to do - Mansion tours, Fort Adams, Brenton State Park, Cliff Walk, harbor tours, day trips to a variety of quaint sea-side villages. Our guests love enjoying all the hustle and bustle of things to do in the Newport area but then being able to come back and enjoy the serene garden surroundings of our cottages.

Notes: Washer/Dryer is shared with other cottages and is coin-op. Air conditioning is available upon request for a small additional fee. There are ceiling fans and window fans. Along wtih the indoor shower, there is a wonderful outside 'after-swim' shower with hot water for rinsing after the beach. The decks are surrounded by beautiful flowering gardens. There are queen beds in bedroom and double futons in living room. There is off-street parking for two cars.

We found Beach Garden Cottages on the internet several years ago -- and this summer will be our 8th vacation at these wonderful cottages! Paul and Trish set a warm, friendly tone. The cottages are everything this website says they are -- clean, well-maintained, private, well-equipped and close to everything. For anyone who likes to walk, you don't really need to drive your car at all -- we walk to the beach, the wharfs, along the Cliff Walk, to the mansions, and the restaurants. Newport itself offers great beaches, wonderful restaurants, and many other attractions that would appeal to young families and older adults as well. We would certainly recommend Beach Garden Cottages and Newport to anyone.

Staying in a little bit of Paradise

We have been renting a cottage for the last 9 years, and would not want to stay anywhere else. Middletown is the best place to stay while visiting Newport, R.I. you are only minutes away from everything that is Newport, and seconds away from sitting on first beach, but in a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The cottages are well maintained and very enjoyable, the landscape is beautifully designed for privacy and also to join others out on the lawn if you like. They have thought of everything you need while away on a holiday. They are a delightful family and will do everything to make your stay one of your best. There is so much to see and do in the whole area with thoughts and ideas left in each of the cottage. explore for yourself this fantastic location. So many great restaurants and things to do so close. You will not be unhappy staying here and if you come in August we will be happy to share our thoughts as we will be in the cottage to the left on the property if you are facing it. I am also very happy to offer my email address to be in touch with me if they wish to give it out.
