This is an adorable, vintage, beach cottage surrounded by flowering gardens. It is clean and comfortable with two small bedrooms. It is one of 4 cottages known as the Beach Garden Cottages. (See links at very bottom of page to view other cottages.) There is a gas fireplace, hardwood floors, ceiling fans, full bathroom and kitchen. You will be charmed by this place, it is as sweet as the photos look. The cottage has a private deck surrounded by flowering perennial beds and a large, shared, fenced-in yard - great for kids. It is on a quiet side street and only a short walk to Newport's Eastons Beach (a.k.a. First Beach). First Beach has public facilities, a carousel, playground, skateboard park and twice weekly evening entertainment. Restaurants are within walking distance and downtown Newport is only 1.5 miles away. References from previous guests available.

The cottages are located on a quiet side street tucked back behind a hedge. It is an easy walk to the beach of about two blocks. There are no fees to walk on to the beach. There are restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance. The downtown Newport waterfront is about 2 miles away where there is wonderful shopping, dining and nightlife. There is so much to do - Mansion tours, Fort Adams, Brenton State Park, Cliff Walk, harbor tours, day trips to a variety of quaint sea-side villages. Our guests love enjoying all the hustle and bustle of things to do in the Newport area but then being able to come back and enjoy the serene garden surroundings of our cottages.

Terrific Place in Newport

Great gardens surround this small, homey cottage. The owners were terrific and the neighborhood was great, with acess to the beach and lots of restaurants, including Flo's Clam Shack. We enjoyed it a lot and hope to return!

Perfect for walking, biking

We walked to the beach, just two blocks away. We walked to the Cliff Walk, which is stunning and is just past the beach. We rode our bikes to the heart of Newport, which is just past the Cliff Walk. It's all right there, and the route for walkers and bike riders is safe, easy, and wonderfully scenic. Several great places to eat are only blocks away as well (Flo's Clam Shack and TJ's among them; both casual and not pricey). The cottage is quaint and airy. The patio is private and beautifully kept. Paul and Trisha are warm and responsive. We rented their slightly larger cottage next door once, too, and enjoyed it just as well.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing

The best Summer rental!

My two daughters & I spent a great week in Newport! The weather was awesome but, the best part was the cottage we rented. It was like being in a quaint English-style cottage. So well kept & had everything you needed. It is set back from the road & secluded by hegdes & wild flowers. It is close to the beaches & near restaurants & only a couple of miles from downtown Newport. A great place to come alone or bring the whole family!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
