Owner's Response: It was a pleasure having you as guests! You have been highly ranked leaving my house perfect, thank you! Yes, the shower is not there, given the limited space I decided to put the bathtub. I put it in front of the window of the small balcony, so to enjoy the view of the city while you bathe (up there there are no neighbors who can look ;). Hope to see you again!
This apartment is the ideal spot for a vacation in Genoa. It is decorated with great taste and the view from the main balcony over the harbour is fantastic - from dawn to dusk to dark. Someone mentioned noise from the motorway in front of the building, but it is a background hum, easy to ignore, and in any case, the attic apartment is 6 floors up (with an elevator!) It is a short walk from Via San Lorenzo and the very centre of Genoa. There are numerous small vendors along the way and Benedetta, who is a most accommodating and helpful hostess, will show you where to find banks and supermarkets . There is a charming little restaurant, Trattoria di Gianna, three minutes away just around the corner. Grazie ancora Benedetto, il tuo appartamento e' perfetto!

Tourists without a Car,
Owner's Response: Dear Harriet,
I'm glad that in the two weeks of your stay you've been happy in my home and have loved the neighborhood around.
I'd like to see you here when you return to Italy to study Italian, so as to discover all that the city can offer, which is a lot.
A warm greeting from the now even your Genoa. :)
After a very long flight from NY to Italy, we were extremely relieved to arrive to the bright, happy loft apartment. It was exactly like the pictures and and had a very cute lift to the 6th floor. The terrace had excellent views of the harbor, we enjoyed watching all the scooters and various cars traveling through. It was in a good neighborhood and centrally located to everything! We walked daily and found new things to see everyday, as well as, shops, markets, funiculars, restaurants, harbor, train station (which we took to visit neighboring towns). Benedetta was helpful throughout our stay and was very easy to get ahold of which added to an already great experience! I would highly recommend this apartment if you are looking for a place to stay to explore all that Genoa has to offer!

Owner's Response: Dear Karalea,
you and your mother you were perfect guests in my house and our Genoa.
I am very glad you had fun and that your curiosity and your desire to know a different reality from yours have found satisfaction. Best wishes! Arrivederci! :))
From the moment we stepped in we felt at home... This apartment is very pleasant and cosy, clean and fully equipped to the finest details. The location is perfect and the view from the small terrace is wonderful. Benedetta has been extremely responsive and went out of her way trying to resolve an internet problem we experienced there.
Highly recommended. We would go back there today...

Owner's Response: Dear Shuki, I'm happy you and your family find in my house as at home. That's what I always want for guests! So Arrivederci (= goodbye) and I hope to see you again in Genoa! :)
We booked this apartment based on the photos, it had two terraces and the fact the apartment was in a "quiet" area. On our arrival we were very disappointed with the apartment because things were not as they were made out on the photos.
Once in the apartment, the noise from the very busy main road AND the flyover was incredibly loud. I stepped onto the main balcony to see the "breath-taking" views and couldn't believe what I saw. Nowhere in this apartment's description does it state it has a main road and a flyover right next to it. I couldn't get onto the second balcony as it was full of plants and rugs, so our thoughts of a relaxing week sitting on the terrace wasn’t going to happen.
We contacted the owner and she said we could close the door to the terrace to keep the noise out! We weren’t happy with this as one of the main reasons for booking this apartment was to use the terraces. When we had a look about the apartment there were other things that bothered us too. The second bedroom hadn't even been made up and the door from the drawer under the bed had come off and hadn't been fixed. For the money we had paid we expected something more.
We decided we didn’t want to stay because there was going to be no chance of a relaxing time on the terraces because of the noise from the traffic. The owner kindly offered to refund the money we had just paid but not the deposit which was a significant amount for us. She said she has never had any complaints before - ours wasn't a complaint it was the fact the photos from the terraces do not give a true representation of the actual views and they make the apartment look better than it is and the noise from the traffic was unbearable. Also, If you are at all claustrophobic – don’t book this apartment as it has an incredibly small lift.
However, we managed to get booked into a lovely hotel for two nights and then moved on to a far nicer apartment and location (San Remo).

Owner's Response: I had a bad experience with these 2 ladies. They said they thought the house was close to the beaches, which is impossible in the city center and can not be read in my ad, in which there is clearly written that it is at a distance of 3 minutes from the old harbor and most of the tourist attractions in Genoa, so away from the beach area. Despite their misunderstanding and their behavior overall rude and capricious, I tried to be friendly and helpful offering, even though I was not held, a settlement statement, so as so to solve the problem in a short time, to avoid arguments and not have at home people who did not appreciate it (and that could damage it). First they accepted and took the money, but then they accused me in an offensive manner that he had returned them less, without even apologize when they realized that they were wrong... And now this review decidedly negative, which contains a series of complaints never moved before to me and falsely representative of the state of my apartment. I am convinced that the positive reviews of all the other people who who stayed in my house for days and not for half an hour show that it is well-finished, precise and clean and it is very pleasant it to live there, even having breakfast or drinks on the terrace . Terrace which is in the city center (with the noise of a city center), not on the seaside or in the Riviera, but with an open view on the sea, the port and the Lantern, symbol of Genoa and roofs all around.
In any case, in emails prior to booking I'm always willing to give any preliminary information that anyone who wants to stay deems useful.
Indeed, I ask you please: read the ad, but write and ask me any question you may have! I want in my little house live people satisfied who enjoy their stay!! :))
I spent a Weekend in this fabulous loft Apartment with 4 girlfriends to celebrate a birthday in the marvellous city of Genoa. The 5 of us were really comfortable in this light and bright space and enjoyed using the terrace for early evening drinks! The beds are comfortable and everything was clean. The apartment is in a fantastic location, within walking distance of all the major sites in this hidden and unknown gem of a city - there are lots of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. We had a lovely time and thanks to Benedetta for all her help and kindness.
