Cannes is a glamour seaside resort on the Riviera, famous worldwide for its film festival.
It was a Ligurian fishing village in ancient times, legends associated with Saint-Honore and the man in the iron mask on the islands of Lerins.
The Old Port and Le Suquet areas have retained somewhat of the historic character.
La Croisette provides fun rides, bordering the palaces, and more quiet at la Pointe facing the islands.
Cannes also offers a variety of beaches, many restaurants and night attractions. Visits to nearby villages in the hinterland, theme parks for all ages such as Marineland in Antibes. The bay of Cannes is a unique sailing and mooring area.
Cannes is close to the Nice International Airport-NCE (25 Km), and airport business Mandelieu (10 Km), also accessible from Marseille Marignane-MRS (175 Km).
The modern convention centre (Festival Palace) hosts throughout the year variety of conventions and performances such as Festival de la Plaisance, Mipcom, Midem, Festival des Jeux, MipTV, Cannes Lions, ..
