Luxurious Hacienda de Tenango XVI Century Colonial Estate

Hacienda Santa Ana de Tenango is an elegant, spacious world-class exclusive six-acre walled estate surrounded by gardens landscaped with lush, local flora including century old trees and tropical flowers. Complete privacy. This magnificent hacienda was founded at the end of the XVI Century and became one of the most important sugar mills in the New Spain; producing sugar for close to 400 years. The wealth that the Lords of Tenango amassed during those centuries can be witnessed and admired by the magnificent architectural remains of this hacienda. Sugar production ended in 1914 when the hacienda was attacked and burned during the Mexican Revolution. The present owners, who are descendants of the original landlords, partially rebuilt the house and planted gardens in the remains of the old factory. They privately care for this magnificent estate and use it on the weekends and holidays.
