Hacienda Santa Ana de Tenango is an elegant, spacious world-class exclusive six-acre walled estate surrounded by gardens landscaped with lush, local flora including century old trees and tropical flowers. Complete privacy. This magnificent hacienda was founded at the end of the XVI Century and became one of the most important sugar mills in the New Spain; producing sugar for close to 400 years. The wealth that the Lords of Tenango amassed during those centuries can be witnessed and admired by the magnificent architectural remains of this hacienda. Sugar production ended in 1914 when the hacienda was attacked and burned during the Mexican Revolution. The present owners, who are descendants of the original landlords, partially rebuilt the house and planted gardens in the remains of the old factory. They privately care for this magnificent estate and use it on the weekends and holidays.

Nearby many attractions can be found for day trips; villages with colonial convents, churches and other haciendas as well as archaeological sites. A world class Spa is only minutes away. Taxco the silver capital of the world, Cuernavaca, Xochicalco, Tepoztlan or Cuautla and be back at your private hacienda by nightfall. Sport activities: hiking or mountain biking in the nearby wilderness, jogging and swimming in one of the two lakes, Golf can be arranged, 15 miles from the hacienda. But in the end most people prefer to just relax, catch up on their reading, writing or painting and enjoy the clear skies, warm clean dry air, spectacular sunsets and the gentle sounds of singing birds. Ski: Tequesquitengo lake is ideal for waterskeeing year around. No snow of course. Water at the lake is 80 F in wintertime

Golf: There is a 18 hole golf course 15 minutes away
