Pelion is popular all the year round, with skiing on Mount Pelion in the winter - not Alpine standard but with 4 runs and a ski-lift - all within 1 hours drive from the villa.
For winter lets, the air-conditioning units double as powerful heaters. In addition there is a large open fireplace in the main living room, and plentiful supply of logs from the trees in the grounds of the villa.
In the Spring and Autumn Pelion is a popular destination for walkers, with a number of public footpaths running through the foothills and round the coastline. The villa provides direct access to a coastal footpath which provides a stunning setting for walks to Kalamos, Afissos and beyond.
In Lefokastro there is a taverna open throughout the winter within walking distance from the house, and a 10-minute drive will take you to Argalasti, the main town in souther Pelion, with a 24-hour medical centre, supermarkets, pharmacy, tavernas, cafes, cash machines and everything else you could need, all year round.
For sailors, the Pagasitic gulf offers perfect sheltered anchorage for yachts, and a base to explore Pelion and the neighbouring islands, Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonyssos. Yachts can be chartered in Volos, and smaller boats (sailing or motor) can be hired nearby.
