Luxuriating in Canmore Place, one of the newest developments in downtown Canmore, our first-floor, two-bedroom condo simultaneously boasts spectacular views of the wild, untamed majesty of the Canadian Rockies, while at the same time being conveniently located for the amenities of downtown Canmore: the shops, the restaurants, the coffee shops and the river. The town is situated just over one hour's drive west from Calgary and five minutes east of Banff National Park.
Canmore came into its own after hosting the Nordic Events at the 1988 Calgary Olympics and since then the town has grown steadily and has attracted quality restaurants, bars, shops and galleries, making it a vibrant place to visit.
Canmore is well known for winter sports, being located close to Banff and all the world-class, spectacular ski resorts within the area. As well as the boarding and skiing, you can find dog sledding, ice fishing, ice climbing and cross-country skiing all within Canmore or area.
The kitchen features a breakfast bar and is fully appointed with dishwasher, electric washer and dryer, side-by-side fridge with ice maker and water cooler, waste disposal unit, electric oven/range, and microwave with hood fan.
The living area is sumptuously furnished, with a large flat screen TV with satellite dish.
The building also features heated underground parking and an elevator, as well as no-stairs easy access.
"We had a great stay in Canmore: the condo was absolutely perfect. The location worked out great. We've been to Canmore many times; but this was by far the best accommodations we've had.
"Thank you and we hope to do business with you in the future."
Our family of 2 adults and 4 boys 12 & under stayed here for 4 days on a mini vacation. The condo was super! We loved that the bedrooms were on opposite ends of the unit, separated by the main living space. This allowed privacy for us parents with our own walk in closet and master bathroom complete with soaker tub. The bed was very comfy and the fan was a nice feature to create the "white noise" we are used to at home. The bunk beds were extremely comfortable and the duvets were a bonus! Our kids fell asleep instantly every night. I also loved that they had their own washroom with full shower/bath. It was great to have a TV in both bedrooms as well as in the living room so that when we came back from a long day of exploring the area, we could all relax and wind down to our own shows.
The kitchen was very well appointed and we ate several meals here together.
It was convenient to have a washer and dryer in the apartment as 4 boys can go through a lot of dirty clothes in the Spring season! The dryer however does not get hot enough to dry a load unless it was kept on several times through a cycle so I hung the clothes to dry in the spacious walk in closet. Not a big deal.
Overall we would stay here again as it was so close to all the beautiful shops and restaurants but on a side street that was very quiet and safe. It was a quick drive to Banff and with the hustle and bustle there, it was very nice to come back to Canmore and walk around exploring at a quitter pace. The Grizzly Paw had a wonderful lunch menu that we all loved! Fantastic bagels at the Rocky Mountain Bagel Co. too!
We also took the boys to the Elevation Place Recreational Centre for a fantastic evening of swimming, all for under $20 for all 6 of us!
I would certainly recommend this lovely condo for a family wanting to have that home-away-from-home atmosphere.
