As you walk in the front door, you are greeted by 22 ft cathedral ceilings, and a large open long living area. To one side is the kitchen the opens into the dining area. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the amenities for cooking and has a countertop with 3 bar stools. There is lots of counter space and cupboards for your items. Off the living area is the Master Bedroom. This room is HUGE. It has the high A frame ceilings and feels like a separate cabin. Besides feeling like you're in a separate cabin, it is quiet and private from the living area. This is a great spot for kids or infants napping yet being close to your activities. There is plenty of room for the King bed, 2 twins, trundle bed, TV, and large bathroom with closet and changing area. The bathroom is also set up with rails and bars for the elder who may need a little help. There is also a private deck for sunning in the morning.

There are 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on this level. 1 queen, 2 kings, and 1 bedroom with King and Twin, and another Large bedroom with King, 2 twins, and TV/DVD. Teenagers/kids love this room because of the size and its at another end of the house to make noise and watch their favorite movies. There is extra floor space here for sleeping bags. All the bedding is European Style with memory foam mattress pad, 300 count sheets, 4 pillows, duvet, and bed throw. Because Lake Tahoe offer so much activities, a good night sleep is mandatory to keep up with all of it.

The open areas and high ceilings enhance the areas to socialize with family or friends, without feeling closed in. The different rooms in the house will allow your group to be together or separate.

There are all the amenities of home and more. Coffee service is provided for your first morning here, and bathrobes are provided in the bedrooms for your use. The furnishings are user friendly with plenty of seating in the living area and patio. Large, wooden beams, triangle shaped windows, and mountain decor throughout the house compliment the 'Tahoe' feeling. The location and amenities of this home makes this a great vacation home year-round.

I offer similar homes walking distance to each other or larger groups or family reunions. Call for more info, other homes, and special pricing.

...a true vacation home. Our 4 families got full use of this great home. There was enough room for all of us to have our privacy and space and then some. Comfortable open areas, nice views, BIG dining table and full stocked kitchen. We were driving distance to everything..super easy to get around the lake. Great restaurants and stores in Kings Beach and we really enjoyed the Hyatt in Incline Village and shops at Squaw Valley which we found a great short cut to. 15min!

Thanks from all of us. Hope to be back next year. GH

Lake Tahoe is a magical place to be both summer and winter. Please feel free to call me with any questions.

I love where the house is on the Lake. You are right in the middle of the North Shore, with easy access to all of Lake Tahoe. The Lake is 3 miles, casinos, 3.5, Northstar 4, Reno 35 minutes, and South Shore is 40 and FUN to go to in the summertime. Skiing is everywhere. I ski at Alpine and Squaw and to drive there from the house, I go the back way and eliminate all the traffic in Tahoe City. I can get there in 20 min's., and is an easy drive.

The restaurants and shops on the lake speak for themselves. But...Northstar is my new hangout! The Village is beautiful!

There is a big ice-skating rink surrounded by bars, tiki torches and outdoor couches with fire pits. Around this are shops and restaurants and then the ski lifts. It reminds be of Vail. In the summertime the ice becomes roller skating with the same ambiance.

You can't beat the neighborhood here. Walking the trails is a twice daily event. There are maintained by the forest service and easy to follow. You can walk to Agate bay, or even Tahoe City if so inclined. Because the area is just up from the Lake, most of the trails have panoramic views of the Lake.

The house is super comfortable and I love walking out the back door and being in the meadow with tall pines. The smell of the forest permeates the house and its quiet, peaceful, and visually soothing.

THIS VACATION RENTAL FAR EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS!

  • 5 of 5
Our large family stayed in the home for a week. We found it not only to be comfortable and meet our needs and then some. To our surprise it surpassed our expectations in every area. The photos do not do it justice. It is even better in person. We will definitely stay here again and would actually consider buying it if we had a smaller family. I love the wood and the decor. I find it very inviting and luxurious. Too bad we had to leave. In addition, the entire experience was more than pleasurable, it was a delight. Kudos to the owner who goes the extra mile to address all concerns and answer any questions with the hiking trails, info on dining, ski resorts, and the best nightlife! With Northstar and Squaw Valley and the king jewel TAHOE of the sierras a short distance away...it is the perfect location, what more could you ask for! We have and will continue to recommend this fine vacation rental to those who want to get away.

FAMILY REUNION

  • 5 of 5
WOW! The Timberhaus is truly a slice of Heaven. Our family recently gathered, from across the country, for a week here. Our family is unique in that our parents have some special needs. Our mom is in a wheelchair and our father has Alzheimer's. Thanks to the owners, the trip was a complete success. Before, during and after the trip, we were attended to extremely well. This week was one of the BEST weeks we have ever spent together!! It was so relaxing with views that were breathtaking in all directions. We had more than enough room to spread out and have our own space. The kids took over the top floor and had a ball....cousins catching up. The hot tub was the perfect way to start and end each day. This house was wonderful. It is beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and is close to almost everything such as good restaurants, beautiful beach's, parks, casino's, horseback riding, etc. In conclusion, we would highly recommend this house to any and everyone! We hope to visit again, ourselves, someday.

BEST RENTAL PROPERTY EVER!!

  • 5 of 5
Our wonderful experience began with my first contact with the owner and just got better and better. The online description of the house does not do it justice. The house is not only beautiful, it is much larger than expected, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. There were 12 of us and there was enough room for small groups to do various activities at the same time without stepping on each other. After a week together in the house, we actually still liked each other at the end of the trip because of the large, spacious areas of the house! We have rented many houses, and found this one to be the best stocked house ever. The owners really went out of their way to make our trip comfortable, easy, and very enjoyable. We will definitely look to return to The Timberhaus on our next trip to Lake Tahoe.

TEN AND A HALF MEN

  • 5 of 5
Every year my college friends and I get away for a West Coast snowboarding trip, and this year we stayed at the Timberhaus. We are all 35+ in age, and live all across the US. This is the one time we have each year to reconnect and spend some male bonding time on the slopes. Having a clean, convenient, and comfortable living space for this trip is TOP priority, second only to having the some of the best and most scenic skiing on the West Coast!!!!!

To state it simply, our stay at the Timberhaus in Lake Tahoe was exceptional. The pictures posted as part of the VRBO listing are nice, but they do not fully capture how incredible this house is. The vaulted ceilings, the open living area, the deck views, the comfortable beds, and the room accommodations made this the best trip we have ever had.

We were able to have group meals at the family style table that sat 10, and the kitchen set-up was great. We had all the pots and pans needed for every meal and then some. We were more happy staying at home and cooking than going out.
The location was just what we needed...away from it all,yet easy access to Alpine, Squaw, Northstar, and we even went to Heavenly 1 day.
Our trip was AMAZING and we are all looking forward to staying again next winter !!

GREAT HOUSE FOR LARGE GROUP!

  • 5 of 5
This house is a great house in a very convenient location. It is easy to get into town or head to the slopes. This was our second time staying at the house with the same group and once again it did not disappoint. After skiing and some time at Alpine Meadows, the house is a perfect place to retreat to in order to unwind, relax, and have some fun. The hot tub allows you to rest the legs and body after a hard day on the slopes. The pool table allows you to have some fun with the group late into the night. The large family room is great for games, hanging out, and watching tv. The fireplace is conveniently located in the middle of everything. The bedrooms are a great size and there is an ample number of bathrooms.

The house is great for a weekend away with friends. It was our second year staying at the house and we will definitely head back for a third next year.

AMAZING VISIT TO LAKE TAHOE

  • 5 of 5
We decided to plan a ski vacation to Lake Tahoe this year, and our decision turned out to be one of the best ski trips ever. We spent 5 nights at the "Timberhaus" and totally picked the perfect home for our group. We had plenty of room, and loved the hot tub and views. We got there in the evening so didn't really see the views from the deck. But, the next morning when I woke up, I simply could not believe how beautiful and dramatic the views were from the deck and great room. I almost did not want to leave to go skiing!

The house is well furnished, and the layout works great for groups. The kitchen is well equipped and we had lots of pots, pans, dishes for 2 meals before having to use the dishwasher. The 4 bathrooms and 6 bedrooms were incredibly comfortable and spacious. I had the opportunity of sleeping in one of the oversized bedrooms and it felt like waking up in your own cabin with the A frame ceiling above the bed.

While I was on a guys' ski trip, the house is extremely large and comfortable and would set up nicely either for an extended family outing or 3 to 4 families who wish to ski and play together.

I believe that the "Timberhaus" is an absolute hidden gem. To me, the views and the flexibiity to ski all 4 mountains make it a no-brainer. I hope to return year after year.

My thanks to the owners for making our trip so enjoyable. Bravo.

Map

This house is in the middle of the Northshore and has easy access to all Lake Tahoe has to offer. 1.5 miles from the highway, getting around the Tahoe Basin is effortless. The drive around the Lake is breathtaking and you'll enjoy the different little towns that surround the Lake. . The house is in a quiet pocket of homes just up from the Lake at Kings Beach. All the homes here sit on a meadow with tall pine trees, and the roads dead end at the hiking trails. Winter and summer they are used and maintained by the forest service. It borders the Tahoe Rim trail which is a destination for some with endless hiking trails you can access from the house. Brockway Summit is well know for its path to Tahoe City, and Watson Lake is worth hiking too. You can walk in the summertime to our neighborhood park, North National Park. The park encompasses approximately 124 acres of predominantly active recreational activities. An 18 par fitness course, ball fields, Frisbee Golf, playground are just a few options. In the wintertime they offer a nice sledding hill for tubing and snow fun. Within 20 min to all the ski resorts on the North Shore, Northstar in the closest and newest village. The village was modeled after Beaver Creek Colorado...cobblestone sidewalks, copper roofs and a multitude of restaurants and shops that line the 'square'. The square is an ice skating rink in the wintertime and roller skating in summer. The bon fire pits and outdoor bars are always there. Its a wonderful setting to hang out at especially at night. Skiing here is family orientated with lots of ski programs for all ages, and a pristine mountain that keeps a good grasp on good snow conditions. If your staying a week, I highly recommend taking advantage of the other resorts also. A bonus is from the house you can drive the back way to Alpine and Squaw Valley which will eliminate the morning traffic through Tahoe City. Both mountains have tons of excellent skiing, and mountain biking in the summertime. MT Rose is where to go for open terrain, Diamond Peak for kids and an easy day skiing. Both are 15 min to the house. In the summertime, Kings Beach just down the street is a State Park with lifeguard and lake toys to rent. The beach is the highlight with wide sandy beaches, and views you have to experience to appreciate. There are also smaller beaches up and down the strip for reading a book, and dog beaches for your loved ones. Brockway golf course in Kings Beach is a must for those that just want a good time. One of the top 9 hole courses in California, its known for its yardage and views. In the wintertime it becomes a snowmobiling park. Tahoe City is 12 miles away and offers another nice city with shops, restaurants and outdoor venues. The Truckee River is our playground for fishing, river rafting, and bike baths to view all. A nice day is renting your bike in Tahoe City and riding to River Ranch. This is a river front restaurant with large outdoor patio at the entrance to Alpine Meadows. Here is where the river tours end and usually where the rafts have issues. You can spend the day here watching the rafters and enjoying their menu and drink. Between the location , amenities of the house, and your favorite family or friends, you'll have a great home to stay at while getting a true Lake Tahoe experience.
