Grand Cayman itself is perched atop one of the most dramatic geologic features on the planet: The Cayman Ridge. Though in most places it is only 12 feet above sea level, the Cayman Ridge plunges sharply to 20,000 feet in depth to form the Cayman Trough, the deepest and steepest underwater feature in the Caribbean. Imagine scuba diving the edge plunging more steeply than Mt Everest to 20,000 feet below!

How this beach and this water are different
'Something deserves to be said to differentiate the beach and water off the Sea Lodges of Cayman Kai from most beaches and water in Grand Cayman. Some rentals are on the beach, but not on the Caribbean. They may be on still water such as the Sound. Some are positioned on the Caribbean, but with no access to water deep enough to snorkel or swim. Some are on beaches made of 'ironstone' and coral. But Kiwi Kai in the Sea Lodges of Cayman Kai is located on a pink sandy beach in one of the most swimmable strips of the Caribbean. The Sea Lodges have what the locals call 'the 16 million dollar view'. We re privileged to be located right on that beach. We snorkel or swim or sunbathe every day we are there.'
