Quiet/Secluded!, Lakeview, Hot Tub Flat Panel TV, Vivid Sunsets, Sleeps 16

Spent a long weekend at the Looking Glass Place with 14 friends that traveled back to Texas after moving elsewhere. We had a blast! The amenities are incredible, including a view of the lake from the hot tub. We also were able to walk about 1/4 mile down the road to Canyon Lake for some swimming and lounging, which was an unexpected surprise. There is a ton of room on the property, so even with close neighbors you feel isolated.

I would recommend this place to everyone with a large group! Enjoy your stay!

We rented Lookinglass Place in April 2011. Our daughter was getting married in Austin and we wanted a place where our whole family could come and stay with us. WE PICKED A WINNER!! This home is so warm and welcoming and we felt like we'd arrived home rather than a rental house.

The home is so well stocked with everything you need from the linens and towels to a kitchen that has all the dishes, glasses and flatware you need to all the small appliances you could ask for...even a juicer!!! All you need to bring is your luggage and any food you want to prepare! There is a nice sized pantry to hold all your dry goods and a good size side by side refrigerator. If that's not enough, there is a second refrigerator in the upstairs mini kitchen for you!! Believe me, we needed all of it with the pre-wedding gatherings we hosted!

If you want to eat out we would highly recommend the Italian Garden Restaurant and the Lucky Sailor, both within minutes of the house. Excellent food!!

We had a fantastic time and loved how comfortable all the furniture was and how many people the house comfortably accomodated for our Rehearsal Dinner Party and then the Bridal Brunch the next day! Terry was always accessible for anything we needed or just for suggestions of things to do in the area.

We were greeted every morning by the local wildlife, particularly the beautiful deer that wandered thru the yard!! Nice way to start the day! We typically finished our day on the upper deck sitting in the spa enjoying the sunset and the view of the lake.

We plan to return to Lookinglass Place very soon. We've already recommended it to our church for a place for a staff retreat!! We highly recommend it to anyone needing a large place to relax in and get away from the city!!! Thanks again Terry!!!

We were 4 couples that booked this home after not finding anything in San Antonio that we thought would work for us. Having never been to Texas we lucked out by looking in the Canyon Lake area, we had no idea what a fantastic spot it was, I can just imagine how busy it is in the tourist season!

This home is perfect for a large gathering, we all commented on how it would be an excellent spot for a family reunion. The extremely large living room downstairs was amazing, after a wet day of golf we had all our clubs and bags out to dry and still loads of room! The pictures do not do justice to how big this room really is, tree and all.

We enjoyed the use of the hot tub, BBQ and the fire pit, it was a little chilly out, but much warmer than Eastern Canada! We also put the washer and dryer to good use, 2 peoples luggage did not arrive for 3 days, so laundry was much needed.

We felt we were treated very well, Terry had looked into wine tour packages for us and sent us info, which unfortunately we ran out of time to do. They also have lots of information on what to do in the area in the home, and we had been sent information in advance for planning.

We were there for 6 nights, went into San Antonio for a Spurs game, The Alamo Bowl, and NYE for dinner and to see the lights on the RIverwalk. Along with 4 days of golf we were very busy!

The location of the home was fantastic for touring different spots and different golf courses. Shopping was available close by, not too far from San Marcos for a big shopping trip.

Best of all were the deer that visited every day. In the early morning there were many on the property, be very careful driving in at night!

If we are back in the area we will certainly look at staying here again, I wish we were there right now....
