Overview

Worcester Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Sleeps eight with 1 Queen, 1full sized bed, 2 twin sized beds and a sleeper sofa

Log cabin in Worcester, New York nestled on six wooded acres on a private road across the road from a stocked pond. 35 minutes from Cooperstown (Baseball Hall of Fame, antiques, beach and boating, and craft shops), and two college town of Oneonta (restaurants, movies, shopping, Soccer Hall of Fame) and Cobleskill. (Howe and Secret Caverns, American Indian Museum). Spectacular Fall foliage.

Guests appreciate the closeness of nature and quiet time to rediscover each other. Many write in the guest book that they find that they preferred to stay in the cabin rather than sightseeing. A perfect spot for the artistic and writers. Families can enjoy fishing, hiking, searching for fossils, golfing and whatever else nature provides. Romantic for couples.

Awesome retreat.....

  • 5 of 5

What a spectacular alternative for our family vacation. My wife, 5 kids, and I had a great time at the cabin. Very close to activities like Howe Caverns and Cooperstown which we were sure to check out while we were there. I only wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings of the cabin itself. I am thinking romantic getaway next time :)

Thank you again for a wonderful stay....

I would highly recommend staying here to anyone who is interested in taking in the area attractions or is just looking for some very peaceful time to get away from it all.

Owner's Response: Dear Jeff, We are so happy that your family enjoyed the cabin. It is our hope that children learn to love nature. We are delighted to hear all that you did in the area and also hope that you will have a chance to relax in the woods next time. Peter and I have spent many getaways at the cabin after our children were old enough to stay with Grandma. It has always been a great place to make decisions and, yes, romantic! All the best, Peter and Bernadette

Wonderful!

Dear Peter and Bernadette,

We are so happy to have found you guys and your cabin. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

After an anxious car ride from New York City we were relieved to find the most perfect, cozy, warm little cabin. We shared many delicious meals, we took long walks enjoying the fresh air and nature. We were lucky to see a herd of deer and some turkeys.

As we took a walk in your little town we felt like we were back in time. We took a ride to the Secret Caverns which was also amazing. We are very thankful of your thoughtfulness; we truly had everything we could possibly need. At nights we played many of your games enjoying togetherness.

We left knowing that we will be back! We feel we found amazing people in you. The warmth of your heart reflects through every inch of your cabin.

OUTSTANDING

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to spend the weekend, look no further. I have stayed here twice and loved it more each time. Perfect place to read, write or just relax.

Ive also golfed at Leatherstocking GC in Cooperstown (5-star golf course) and at Cobleskill Golf and Country Club (3.5 stars). I love the area for cycling with plenty of valleys to work on your cadence or challenging 2000 ft climbs to get your attention. For you baseball fan/cyclists int he crowd, its a 26 mile ride to the Hall of Fame, 52 mile round trip, with three 2000 ft climbs, the last one being the South Hill which leads to your driveway. A great ride. (Brady Rd, where the cabin is located is a dirt road, but I was able to get in and out on my road bike.)

I recommend eating at the Worcester Inn (3 miles from cabin) for a great home-cooked meal.

But mostly, I love the cabin and being in the woods preparing meals there and enjoying the back deck or the front porch. (There is nothing like a star-lit night from the back deck). A close second is relaxing on the swing-seat on the side deck anytime of the day.

Peter and Bernadette have created an oasis in the mountains and you can feel the love and warmth with each stay.

It is well-kept, has plenty of kitchen supplies and the cabinets are filled as if it is your own home.

Since you would pay over $100 at a decent hotel, this is a bargain and I promise you will want to return soon. ( My favorite wildlife sighting was the AM I looked out the back deck and watched a family of 7 raccoons trot across to the other side…beautiful)

This is the perfect place for peace and serenity and heart-thumping cycling!

Owner's Response: I enjoyed getting to know you even if only by phone. Thanks for leaving a copy of your book about your family cross country bike ride. What an inspiration. The cabin is a better place because of your visits. I hope someday my wife and I get to cross paths with you.

An amazing place to stay, my family loved it!!

  • 5 of 5

Thanks Peter for letting us stay in your awesome cabin! The time my family spent there could only be described as magical... My 10 year old daughter especially loved the treasure hunt. She even found a newt and named her "Amber". With our busy lives, your cabin gave a chance to spend quality family time in nature and for that I'm truly grateful... It took us 7 hours to get there but it was worth it..We already have plans to go back next summer and stay longer!! Thanks again Peter!

Owner's Response: Bernadette and I are thrilled that you loved the treasure hunt. Believe it or not you're only the third family to discover it. It was written especially for a ten year old. Just hearing about it puts wind in our sail. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Peter, your cabin is great and thank you! We had a great time, Vroomans nose was a nice hike. Thanks for letting me know about that trail and we went to Secret Caverns which was nearby and had a lot of fun. I think we all agreed just hanging out at the cabin was actually the best, you guys have a nice place, we saw so many stars! Thanks again

Chris
