Snow House is located one block off Main Street, and just 3 blocks from the Chatham Light and Lighthouse Beach -- the heart of Old Village! Stay here and walk nearly everywhere!

A complete, award-winning 2004 restoration brought this circa 1850 sea captain's house lovingly into the 21st century. Snow House was among five recipients of the first-annual Chatham Preservation Awards. The home was featured in the Spring 2005 issue of Home Remodeling Cape Cod and the Islands.

This beautiful Greek Revival cottage provides a wonderful home-base year-round, from which you can walk to the beach, shopping, dining, fishing and much more. Head off to explore the rest of the Cape or just relax.

A family room with wood-burning fireplace and bay window beckons guests to relax and curl up with a good book or watch a movie. From here you can view the lawn where one can enjoy a game of croquet.

In the center of the house, a spacious kitchen featuring granite counters provides seating for up to four. It adjoins the dining room with seating for 6-8. From the kitchen you can access the patio with its gas grill and outdoor table for dinners al fresco.

The main floor has two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and one with a twin with pop-up twin trundle. There are both a full bath with tub-shower, and a half-bath on the first floor. Upstairs you'll find a full bath with shower and two additional bedrooms, one with twin beds and another featuring a twin with pop-up trundle.

A playroom between the two offers a perfect place for children and features a TV with VCR. Bed linens and towels are available through a number of rental agencies. We have found Essential Rentals to have the best quality & most professional service. Linen rentals must be made 7 days prior to arrival. Please contact.

About The Owner

Snow House is now owned by the Macdaniel Family of Texas, and is located at the southwest corner of School Street and Sunset Lane. In 2000, the family embarked on a major restoration and renovation of the property and was awarded one of the first Chatham Preservation Awards in 2004. The unique charm and memories that make this place so special to the family have been preserved for your vacation experience. When inquiring about renting this house, you will be assisted by Wendy Hatch at Websters in Chatham, MA.

Why The Owner chose Chatham

Chatham has always been Cape Cod's quintessential village, even back in the 1940's when the current owner's uncle, Andre Snow, purchased the house. He and his wife, Dorothy, spent half of each year there. Mr. Snow pursued his photography career and his wife, her artwork.

What makes this cottage unique

Snow House is located in the heart of the Old Village, a National Historic District. It is just three blocks to Lighthouse Beach, one block to the Mill Pond and a five minute walk to the start of Chatham's many fine shops, restaurants and much more. After staying in Snow House, you will know that you have had a truly unique experience!

Personal checks, bank checks, credit cards and money orders are accepted. A Tenant Agreement will be sent which must be signed and returned along with a deposit payment of 50% of the rent, plus any fees within 7 days. Travel insurance is optional and is due with the first deposit payment. The remaining balance is due May 1, 2013. Please contact for full policies.
Fees And Taxes Each property is cleaned before your arrival and all rentals require a cleaning fee. You are responsible for cleaning during your stay and for leaving the property in a similar condition at check out. Any additional cleaning necessary will result in a security deposit deduction.

A lovely environment

This is a beautiful restoration of a house in a charming town and an excellent location for both beach and town which are within a few minutes walk. We loved the feel of the house and it was very well equipped and furnished. It was very clean and the patio a beautiful spot to sit and have breakfast and relax. The gardens were lovely too.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, People with Disabilities
Owner's Response: The Snow House has much to offer to those looking for a charming rental in a great location. Park your car at the house, and walk to Old Town, to the beach, to the Mill Pond. We are always glad to hear that vacationers enjoy our Chatham home.
