Enjoy watersports on Loch Lomond or stroll along it's unspoilt bays and beaches (Sallochy, one of the most beautiful bays is only a 5 minute walk from the cottage). Walk the famous West Highland Way which passes right around the Dubh Loch, climb Ben Lomond (3 miles away) or enjoy some spectacular cycling scenery. The antidote to a busy life

  • 5 of 5

Our fourth time in this perfect cottage and location, and we are a family who never return to the same place! The air, the mountains, the countryside will slow you down, soothe your worries and let you relax. The cottage will make you feel warm, comfortable and secure. There have been times when I and the family needed this escape more than we imagined, and Dubh Loch cottage was there to take us back to what lies at the heart of family life; time to talk, eat and laugh. Time genuinely goes slower here. Fact!

Always clean, warm and well maintained, with added attractions such as the stream and plunge pool, the summer house to see the thousand stars at night and a log burning stove to make the evenings go well. Great walks, cycling and places to eat. Scotland at its best.

Cottage in complete harmony with its setting

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is on the Eastern side of Loch Lomond which is far quieter than the busy Western Shore. It is situated next to a small stream and we love watching the flowing water and the birdlife - all from the comfort of the dining room. The woodpecker is a favourite visitor. The cottage is very comfortable with two living areas and the heating system is effective, as well as having a wood fire for added atmosphere. The beds and linen are of a high standard. There are numerous walking trails accessible from the house. The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome. This is our third stay in the cottage - and won't be our last. Well worth the long flight from Australia to stay in such a great cottage.

Charming Cottage in a wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

The property is stunning and very homely and is located in beautiful sorroundings. We arrived mid afternoon to find it had been spotlessly cleaned and the welcome gifts of a bottle of wine and box of chocolates was a lovely surprise. The cottage has lots of character and we enjoyed watching the different types of birds feeding from the bird feeding station in the garden. All in all it was a fantastic cottage to which we will return.

Beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderfully relaxing long weekend at Dubh Loch Cottage with four friends and our dogs. We went for long local walks and relaxed in front of the log burner (plenty of wood available) drinking wine and being sociable! We also sat outside to have coffee watching the Burn. There is a tv and lots of DVD's to choose from. The cottage is extremely well equipped and maintained. We had very good communication with Simon and Susie who gave us lots of information prior to our stay. I would have absolutely no worries about recommending this cottage to anyone.

A charming, cozy cottage in a great location.

  • 4 of 5

This cozy cottage is charming with all the modern amenities and comforts of a much newer home. The cottage and grounds are beautifully maintained. It is within an hour's drive of the Glasgow Airport but is located near the shore Loch Lommond so you really feel immersed in the Scottish countryside. There is much to see and do within easy driving or you can simply enjoy a hike on any of the innumerable trails right out your backdoor. Also, there are several good restaurants located within about a 10 minute drive. We were two couples sharing this cottage but it was large and roomy enough to comfortably accommodate 3 couples easily. I highly recommend this rental cottage.
