This cabin was great. After warming up the inside the weekend was fantastic with all the modern conviences we needed. The place is very dog friendly and the small twon close by offers unique places to shop and eat at.
My friend and I came from two different cities and met in the middle at this sweet little cabin! It was the perfect weekend getaway from city life! Everything you need is either already in the cabin or within a 10-minute drive, but when you're there, you feel like you're away from it all.
The cabin is completely surrounded by trees. You don't see any other civilization around you. There is a little creek down the hill a bit. The huge glass windows and deck give you great views of the surrounding nature.
We went hiking at the nature center (Camp Lackawanna) about 10 minutes down the road and that was great. Also came across a large Goodwill thrift store going into town... we both love thrift shopping, so that was a great find too!
Becky was super quick and helpful on all her responses. Even though there aren't a ton of reviews on here, you can tell they've have lots of satisfied guests here over the years by reading the guest book!
Things to note/only drawbacks: The steep driveway! (As everyone else mentioned.) Having to mail checks back and forth rather than pay online was a bit of a drawback for me since I was somewhat last minute on reserving. The loft is open to the main living space... this is probably to be expected, but just wanted to note for any light sleepers or people wanting more privacy. I also don't recommend arriving at night! It's a bit hard to find/navigate in the dark (though it can be done).
Overall, loved it! And would definitely stay here again! THANK YOU!
If you want to get away from it all....but not too far away, this is the place. My husband and I and our 3 dogs had a wonderful time walking, exploring and playing in the stream. The cabin was extremely cozy and had everything you would need. It is a place to relax and reset. Our week went too fast and we did not want to leave. The owners were wonderful and very accommodating. We will be back!
Beautiful cabin! Peaceful and quiet! So relaxing! Everything was what the owners said it was. Definitely coming back! Thank you. We had a wonderful time.
My husband and I stayed at the cabin the weekend of June 7th to the 9th with our two dogs. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The cabin was secluded with nothing but trees and a relaxing stream at the bottom of the hill. Loved sitting on the deck listening to the water and birds. My dogs loved the wrap around porch and hunting for chipmunks near the rock wall. The view from the inside with the large windows was amazing, the windows let in so much sun! I really appreciated that we were able to take our dogs along. The bed in the loft was very comfortable to sleep in. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone that is longing for peace and quiet and to get away from the sounds of the city! Becky was very friendly and helpful to us. Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your little piece of heaven in Tunkhannock! We plan on coming back next summer! Oh and there are alot of little shops in the town to explore also. We recommend the Fireplace restaurant only a few miles from the cabin!
We relaxed the first couple of days which was heaven. We drove down to the nature preserve and walked for hours the other days. We were there at just the right time to see the field of Virginia Bluebells.
